RFW #126 Results

Location: RFW Arena in Atlanta, GA

Welcome back to Rapid Fire Wrestling! I’m Kimberly Kennedy, ringside and backstage correspondent, filling in for Shawn Roberts. I explain his absence later in these show results but we have a whole lot to cover on this final show before the Spring Shockwave super show. So let’s go over everything that happened in RFW this past week!

Alexandra Morgan vs. Keira Ryan

Keira Ryan has had a rising career here in RFW and it intersected with Alexandra Morgan’s slip down the ranks making this match one with intensity bursting from the seams. Morgan came out strong, hard, and fast early on but once Ryan found an opening she made the most of her opportunity and worked Morgan methodically to take away her strength advantage.

Morgan looked frustrated as the match continued on and Ryan refused to give up any of her momentum. Momentum did shift, however, when Morgan used a head butt to Ryan’s temple. This was the opening Morgan needed and she dominated as this match continued. Ryan locked in a chicken wing submission late in the match but it wasn’t enough. Morgan used a spinning side slam on Ryan to keep her on the mat long enough for a pin.

Alexandra Morgan was your winner in our exciting opening match! Is this the start of a comeback for Morgan?

Triple Threat

RFW’s Commissioner, Aurora Starkey, came to the ring to address a growing concern this season. Kassidy Fortune and Kami King are set to compete for the RFW World Championship next week at Spring Shockwave but Shannon Worth of The Four Elements has continuously disrupted the lead-up to this match. Starkey invited the champion Fortune, the challenger King, and Worth to the ring.

Commissioner Starkey announced that Fortune requested Worth be added to next week’s title match. The news pleased Worth but shocked King, who objected.

“Are you nuts, Kassidy? You are going to let Shannon push her way into ourmatch? I fought hard to get back to this and I know you want a fair fight as much as I do.” -Kami King

Fortune’s justification was simple. The only way to keep Worth from interfering in their match is to put her in it and neutralize her from within. King seemed willing to accept Fortune’s reasoning but Worth did not waste the opportunity to share her thoughts.

“God, you know you really are a whiner, Kami. I thought you became ‘hardened’ in your time away wrestling in dilapidated gymnasiums and seedy clubs. You can’t handle a little extra pressure? And you, Kassidy Fortune. The wannabe leader of RFW’s roster who holds the title that made valuable. You really are a fool stacking the deck against yourself even further.” -Shannon Worth

Commissioner Starkey officially declared next week’s RFW World Championship match a Triple Threat!

Elemental Damage

I said I would explain Shawn Roberts’ absence this week and here we go. Last week, Roberts clearly expressed his frustration with the ongoing actions of The Four Elements. While one of the Elements, Shannon Worth, was still in the ring, the other three, Tommy V, Marcus, and Killer Malone found Roberts backstage and brutally attacked him!

The Cause ran to the aid of Roberts and had a heated confrontation with his attackers. Aurora Starkey came back from the ring, furious, and setup our main event match between Killer Malone and Rus Samson.

Roberts was taken away by stretcher and the official word from RFW medical staff is that he has suffered “multiple injuries” and there is no timetable for his return. As his colleague and friend, I hope to see him back here soon.

Mikey Armstrong vs. Preston Montgomery

The ongoing post-breakup period for the former tag team of Mikey Armstrong and Preston Montgomery is still in full swing and Armstrong came to the ring in a rare state of frustration. Armstrong called Montgomery to the ring, alone, and face him in a match so they could settle their differences once and for all. Montgomery answered the call with “Firehawk” Steve Curtis absent.

Montgomery put up a good fight against his former tag partner but this technical mat wrestling style match favored the veteran Armstrong who used an exploder suplex to subdue Montgomery, winning by pinfall.

That should have been the end of it but as Armstrong stood victorious Curtis entered the ring and had words with Armstrong. This brought out “Badlands” Bill Stanton and as you can imagine this post-match confrontation turned into a four-way brawl!

The scuffle was broken up by officials and I later learned that Mikey Armstrong and “Badlands” Bill Stanton will face Preston Montgomery and “Firehawk” Steve Curtis in a no holds barred tag team match next week at Spring Shockwave!

Yesterday and Tomorrow

I had the opportunity to meet with Maria Estrella and Phueng Ahunai in a sit-down interview to talk about their match to determine the next holder of the vacant RFW Wildheart Championship. Winning the Wildheart means something different to each of them and I was determined to understand more.

Estrella talked about her accomplishments, being among the first women to compete in RFW, being the first RFW World Champion, and not planning to rest on those accomplishments.

“I may have accomplished a lot here but I am far from done. Becoming RFW Wildheart Champion would be an honor and another highlight on a career I am already proud of but not yet done with. I will be a leader in RFW for years to come and intend to lead as one of its champions.” -Maria Estrella

Estrella wants to build on her legacy but Ahunai sees the Wildheart as the true launchpad of what has already been a quick and successful rise in RFW.

“Maria, Maria, Maria. I wish you and others of your vintage would get it through your head that I am the future of RFW, not any of you, and you need to understand your place. I will carry the Wildheart and you can watch my backside as I march from the front of the line and you drag behind into history.” -Phueng Ahunai

I think a lot of fans are going to be on the edge of their seat to see who is crowned the new RFW Wildheart Champion next week at Spring Shockwave.

Street Kid

Speaking of championships, Ruslan Panov has a big opportunity at Spring Shockwave when he steps into the ring with another HAW veteran, RFW Grand Champion The Iconoclast. Panov came to the ring to address The Iconoclast’s dismissive comments about him coming up from the streets.

“I heard you. I saw you standing atop a majestic mountain range. I don’t know your past but you know mine. I am proud of where I come from. Great people can come from anywhere and as a kid who learned to fight in the streets, I know I can persevere, I know I can beat you, and I know I can be RFW Grand Champion!” -Ruslan Panov

The Iconoclast came to the ring to respond to his challenger, and in a backhanded way, agreed with Panov.

“Mr. Panov, I hear the conviction in your voice. I hear the confidence. The pride. All of those traits will get you what you want. The problem, Mr. Panov, is that is not possible while I am champion. You can do nearly the impossible but nearly is not enough. Mr. Panov, your efforts come at the wrong time. You would succeed in a different time against a different champion. You cannot succeed next week. Not against me.” -The Iconoclast

This one didn’t end in a brawl but it did end in a very intense stare down between both men. The Iconoclast held his championship belt high over his head and watched as Panov stared at it intensely. Who is your pick in this match? It’s going to be hard-hitting, hard to predict match!

Killer Malone vs. Rus Samson

The main event was decided earlier in the night and though Rus Samson and his parter Ridge will challenge The Four Elements’ Marcus and Tommy V for the RFW Tag Team Championship next week at Spring Shockwave, he had to go through Killer Malone.

As expected, this match was a hard-hitting, strong style fight. Malone softened Samson with heavy blows but Samson pushed through with some of the hardest hitting slams I have seen in some time.

As the match continued, Marcus and Tommy V came to the ring, threatening to make this a bad situation for Samson. Ridge ran down to ringside and clubbed the champions from behind with forearms. With The Elements neutralized, Samson was able to stay focused on Malone in the ring. That is, until Cool Spencer hopped over the audience barricade and attacked Ridge. Samson left the ring to fend off Spencer but Paisley Alden arrived and got in his face. This allowed Malone to attack Samson.

Then it got totally out of control! Spencer, Alden, and all Four Elements including Shannon Worth surrounded the ring looking ready to rush in and dogpile on Samson. Ridge slid into the ring to defend his partner and the crowd burst into excitement as Kassidy Fortune and Kami King ran to the ring to help.

The main event was thrown out as a wild fight broke out both in and out of the ring. Samson and Ridge gave Marcus and Tommy V a sample of what punishment they may receive next week but the numbers were too great and they were overcome by The Four Elements and Cool Spencer.

King and Fortune were handling Worth and Alden but when King tried a super kick on Worth, Alden pushed Fortune between them. Fortune took the super kick and hit the mat, King took a spinning elbow from Worth, and when the dust began to settle it was The Four Elements with Cool Spencer and Paisley Alden standing in the ring looking strong and ready for Spring Shockwave.

That’s going to do it for this, the final regular show of our spring season. Be sure to check in next week for the results of our Spring Shockwave super show!
