RFW #116 Results

Location: RFW Arena in Atlanta, GA

We’re back at it, Rapid Fire Fanatics! Plenty of action, intrigue, and even a returning superstar. It’s still early in our fall season and we already shifted into high gear. Here is everything you need to know about this week in RFW.

Welcome to Rapid Fire Wrestling!

Rus Samson vs. Hector Diaz

We started the show off with two guys who didn’t have a great time at the Rapid Fire Festival. Hector Diaz came looking to get back in the win books and Rus Samson is apparently out on his own and no longer with Lost Cause?

Diaz looked good here early on but Samson overpowered him and dominated throughout the match. Diaz surprised the big man with a high drop kick and rallied in an attempt to win this thing but it was Samson who gorilla pressed Diaz and tossed him across the ring before pinning him.

Our own Kimberly Kennedy appeared at ringside to talk to Rus Samson about his victory but then asked about his relationship with Lost Cause. Samson was very clear about his direction going forward.

“I told Spencer and Paisley that I was loyal to them and they had their doubts anyway. I am on my own now, and so are they. I don’t care what they do or where they go as long as they leave me alone.” -Rus Samson

This was sad to hear. I know a lot of fans love Lost Cause. Hell, I love Lost Cause. I think it will be exciting to see what Rus Samson does next, though!

No Sleep ‘Til Payback

There was some commotion backstage and we found Kenneth Cobb seeking Andre Jordan. Cobb yelled that he would not rest until he found Jordan and handed him a receipt for sneaking a win over him last week.

Outside the RFW Arena, Jordan pulled up in a brand new Corvette but barely stepped out of the car when he saw Cobb running for him. Jordan took shelter in the Corvette which protected him from Cobb throwing production equipment at him but the windshield and gorgeous paint job got damaged badly until Jordan backed the car up and sped away.

I get the frustration on Cobb’s part but did the Corvette deserve that?

Working Through The Pain

Kimberly Kennedy kept busy on this show as she met up with Mia Mercury backstage. Mercury was strapping a brace on her knee that took a lot of abuse in her match against Annika last week. Mercury admitted to working through an injury.

“I think a lot of people know I’ve had problems with my knee in the past and to be honest it’s been an off and on problem ever since. Last week did me no favors but, hey, I’m still here and I’m still ready to give me all.” -Mia Mercury

Annika stepped up to Mercury and wanted a rematch, unconcerned for Mercury’s damaged knee. Mercury agreed to the match which was scheduled for later in the show.

Cool Spencer and Ridge w/Paisley Alden vs. The Four Elements (Tommy V and Marcus)

We heard from Rus Samson earlier that Lost Cause is on their own but if there was ever a time they needed him, they need him now. Lost Cause’s issues with The Four Elements continue and while they have Ridge helping them out, they are still at a numbers disadvantage. Cool Spencer partnered up with the ring veteran Ridge to take on Tommy V and Marcus. Paisley Alden stood by for support at ringside but so was Shannon Worth and Killer Malone.

This was solid tag match and though Spencer and Ridge weren’t as familar with each other as Marcus and Tommy V they functioned well together as a team. There was a lot of back and forth action and heart-stopping moments like Ridge’s moonsault onto Marcus which would have earned him the win if it wasn’t for Tommy V breaking up the pin.

Spencer found himself trapped in The Four Elements corner as they wore him down but they couldn’t defeat him. A jawbreaker from Spencer to Tommy V got Spencer an opportunity to tag in Ridge who started a big comeback. The final moments of this match saw Spencer wrapping up Tommy V for a pin but a clean victory was not to be because Marcus, Worth, and Malone stormed the ring to break up the pin and attack Spencer which led to a disqualification finish.

Ridge and Paisley Alden joined in the fray but this fight was not meant to end well for them. The Four Elements brutally beat down Lost Cause and Ridge before walking away and we were left with Spencer covering Alden for protection and Ridge covering him. Lost Cause may be broken but there’s still a bond here and perhaps new strength with Ridge. Is Rus Samson really going to allow this to keep happening?

Cleared To Compete?

Maria Estrella returned to RFW to confront her ex-girlfriend Jessie Vega but Lee Lee Hunt claimed Vega was injured when Estrella attacked her at the Rapid Fire Festival. Estrella came to the ring too once again call for Vega to show herself and, of course, got Lee Lee Hunt instead. Hunt stepped into the ring and told Estrella that Vega was in the arena but is in no condition to wrestle.

Vega’s music began to play and she rolled out to the arena stage in a wheelchair! Vega tearfully told us all about her health struggles since Estrella got her hands on her.

“Maria, I hope you are happy! I can’t walk more than a few feet without being in crippling pain. I may not be able to wrestle ever again and won’t be able to dance on stage. Remember when we used to dance together in my apartment? I loved that Maria Estrella. Not this violent monster you’ve become!” -Jessie Vega

She loved Maria??? She dumped Maria!

RFW Commissioner Aurora Starkey wasn’t buying any of this. The Commish walked out and addressed Vega’s “injury” directly.

“Jessie, do you think I’m stupid? Has Lee Lee Hunt warped your mind so much that you actually think anybody is going to buy this? I received no medical report of any kind regarding your back and as far as RFW is concerned you are 100% cleared for physical contact. So! Let’s not waste these good peoples’ time by standing around and talking, let’s give them some action. Here, I’ll even deliver you.” -Aurora Starkey

Starkey grabbed the wheelchair and began rolling Vega to her doom, the awaiting Estrella! Vega panicked before leaping out of the wheelchair and running through the crowd to escape. Estrella may be aggravated to miss out on getting her hands on Vega but even she cracked a smile on this one. I can’t say the same for Lee Lee Hunt who was left alone in the ring with Estrella and pleaded for mercy before being hit with a big ol’ clothesline.

Go For The Gold

Preston Montgomery and Mikey Armstrong were hanging out backstage and Montgomery suggested he and Armstrong challenge The Navigators for the RFW Tag Team Championship. Armstrong liked the idea but the team was confronted by Chucky Arter and Eric Waves.

“I hear you. You guys deserve a shot as much as anyone else but before you go asking Aurora Starkey about that we want a rematch. One more match, next week, winner goes for the gold.” -Eric Waves

Armstrong and Montgomery considered the challenged, accepted, and it sounds like we’ve got a high stakes tag match next week!

Annika vs. Mia Mercury

We knew this one was coming. Annika and Mia Mercury were back at it for a rematch and Annika was determined not to let Mercury get a win over her a second time. Mercury’s knee hasn’t been right, particularly after last week’s match and it became the central part of the story of this match.

Annika wasted no time attacking Mercury’s leg which was highly effective to ground the high flier throughout this match. Mercury has proved she has more in her arsenal than bouncing around, though, and while she kept herself competitive at the match continued on it was the laser precision of Annika that kept taking her down.

In the end, Mercury put up a good fight but when she stumbled late in the match it gave Annika the open door to roll her up into an arm breaker submission. Nowhere to go, Mercury submitted and Annika picked up the win here.

Annika stood tall as the winner as Mia Mercury hobbled off, clearly disappointed in her loss.

Mark Blood Returns

Yep! No need to set the stage for this one. Mark Blood, who hasn’t been seen since completing an epic run with the RFW Grand Championship, made his first appearance since Final Round 2024.

Blood had a lot to say about that run with the championship, defending it every week, and the toll it took on his body. He applauded RFW for having an incredible year so far and was ready to get himself back into the mix.

“To say that RFW is the best it’s ever been is an understatement and I’m excited to see all the new faces. There is a lot to do around here and a lot of new challenges to confront. And of course, old challenges, too. I’ve never been shy about wanting to be the best and being the best means holding that RFW Grand Championship again.” -Mark Blood

Talk of the Grand Championship was a trigger for Lords of Chaos’s own Ruslan Panov who made his own intentions for capturing the gold known last week. Panov, flanked by his partner Rex Anarchy, came to the ring to confront Blood and attempted to set Blood’s expectations.

“You took your busted body out of the game, step back in and expect to talk about championship plans while the rest of us are the ones who have been working hard to make this place, in your words, ‘the best it’s ever been.’ You deserve a shot at the Grand Championship but you’ll have to wait until I take down The Iconoclast.” -Ruslan Panov

Blood and the Lords of Chaos argued which brought out the RFW Grand Champion, The Iconoclast. The Iconoclast was with his associate Dezzy Nightshade and that ever-menacing duo observed the the champion’s possible futures in the ring. Finally, the champion said his piece in his usual, simple manner.

“Mr. Blood. Mr. Panov. It matter little who challenges me next but it sounds like the two of you need to figure it out. Do so, and I will be waiting.” -The Iconoclast

With that, we’ve got ourselves a number one contender match, Mark Blood vs. Ruslan Panov, and word has it that will be happening next week!

Keira Ryan vs. Yurei

Main event time. Keira Ryan has been impressing all year long and had her biggest test yet against the number one contender for the RFW World Championship, Yurei.

Yurei was as intimidating as ever but Ryan seemed unfazed and made this bout a very competitive one. Yurei hit hard and vicious but Ryan responded with a measured, technical offense. Yurei tried for a spear but crashed into the ring post, got caught in a German suplex but kicked out of a pin that would have given Ryan an incredible upset victory. This fired up Yurei who brutalized Ryan as the match continued.

Ryan made a comeback but things took a turn when Phueng Ahunai came down to ringside. Ahunai was none too happy to lose to Ryan last week and she arrived on the scene to distract Ryan. Ryan took her eyes off of Yurei just long enough to get caught with a spear. Yurei covered Ryan and picked up the win.

Yurei is your winner here but she didn’t bother to celebrate because and Phueng Ahunai partnered up to attack Keira Ryan after the bell! This brought out our RFW World Champion Kassidy Fortune to fight off the duo but got speared by Yurei for her efforts anyway.

We closed out our show with Yurei holding the World Championship belt and taunting Fortune with it while Ahunai looked pleased with Ryan left incapacitated at her feet. That’s going to do it for us this week but we’ll be back next week to see where all of this is headed next!
