Welcome back to Rapid Fire Wrestling! I’m Shawn Roberts, the Voice of RFW, and I have all the deets on this week’s show. Let’s get to it!
Meghan DeWitt vs. Phueng Ahunai
Our RFW Wildheart Championship tournament continued this week and Meghan DeWitt, the longest reigning RFW Wildheart Champion, aimed to reclaim the title by winning this tournament. In her way was the self-proclaimed “next generation of RFW” Phueng Ahunai who looked for a run with the Wildheart to be her true breakout moment.
This was an exciting opening match with momentum shifting continuously. DeWitt was closing in on a win thanks to some well-placed strikes but a missed flying knee was the opening Ahunai needed to close out this match, defeating DeWitt by pinfall.
Phueng Ahunai picked up the win and slid into the next round of the tournament.
Blowing off Some Steam
We went backstage where Alexandra Morgan was upset and angry that Kami King defeated her last week to become the number one contender for the RFW World Championship. Winter tried to focus Morgan and calm her down but Morgan wasn’t having it.
“Don’t do this! You aren’t here to be my friend. You are here to get me on top of this business. You shouldn’t have let last week’s match happen. It should have been my match!” -Alexandra Morgan
Keira Ryan casually walked up to Morgan and Winter and gave Morgan a curious look. Ryan told Morgan that if she wanted to blow off some steam she’d be happy to meet her in the ring.
Alexandra Morgan w/Claudia Winter vs. Keira Ryan
Keira Ryan’s challenge led to a match! Alexandra Morgan came to this match looking to get her aggressions out and Ryan took some punishment early on. Ryan fired back and kept Morgan on the defensive with high-impact slams and slowing things down with submissions.
The referee got clipped by a clothesline by Morgan and was momentarily stunned on the mat. Morgan yelled something to Claudia Winter who jumped on to the ring apron, removed her high heels, and got ready to spike Ryan with the stiletto. Morgan attempted to whip Ryan toward Winter but the attempt was reversed at the last second. Winter’s swing of her heel hit true but hit Morgan instead of Ryan! Ryan followed up with a DDT and covered for the pin as a referee recovered, counting to three, and making Ryan the winner of this match.
Claudia Winter looked terrified as Alexandra Morgan rolled out of the ring and fled to the backstage. Keira Ryan watched with amusement as she stood in the ring with her arm raised high.
Good Luck from Old Friends
Backstage, The Cause were confronted by Cool Spencer and Paisley Alden but it was not the Lost Cause reunion anyone would hope for. Spencer and Alden mockingly wished The Cause good luck in their title opportunity against The Four Elements. Neither Rus Samson or Ridge appreciated the disingenuous well wishes but to add injury to insult, The Four Elements attacked The Cause from behind!
Marcus and Tommy V kicked The Cause while they were down. When the assault was over, Marcus looked at Spencer and Alden with contempt but begrudgingly thanked them for their help.
Mikey Armstrong w/“Badlands” Bill Stanton vs. “Firehawk” Steve Curtis w/Preston Montgomery
Once upon a time, Mikey Armstrong and Preston Montgomery were a lovable underdog tag team but that’s now a memory. These two are no longer seeing eye-to-eye and Montgomery’s new protege, “Firehawk” Steve Curtis, has made Armstrong’s life more difficult by the week. Thanks to his own issues with Curtis and Montgomery, “Badlands” Bill Stanton came to Armstrong’s corner to even the odds.
Armstrong’s in-ring experience gave him the upper hand against Curtis though Curtis was no pushover with a quick and vicious brawling offense. The action favored both men but when Armstrong was building serious momentum Montgomery tripped him as he hit the ropes. It was enough of a distraction to allow Curtis to gain an advantage but Montgomery paid for his interference when Stanton got ahold of him. Stanton neutralized Montgomery with a body slam on the floor but back in the ring Curtis benefitted from Montgomery’s interference and pinned Armstrong for the win.
Steve Curtis added another win in his debut year in RFW!
Back to Basics
Ruslan Panov has a big opportunity at Spring Shockwave when he challenges The Iconoclast for the RFW Grand Championship. We got a glimpse of his training which brought him back to the streets of his hometown! Panov has been training in some dank, small gyms, running through sketch neighborhoods, exercising in junk yards, and he’s looking determined to bring his best when he clashes with The Iconoclast.
“Iconoclast, I came home to get back to beginning, get myself in the survivor mindset where I started, and am more dangerous than ever before. I will come back here after Spring Shockwave and I will be wearing the Grand Championship!” -Ruslan Panov
Panov looked great here. Will The Iconoclast be ready for this version of Ruslan Panov?
Tracy Blood vs. Yurei
Our main event was another match in our RFW Wildheart Championship tournament. Neither Tracy Blood and Yurei are afraid to hit and this match started off with strikes to test the waters before revving up and hitting harder and faster! Yurei got an advantage after a well-placed kick to Blood’s thigh and then brought the kickboxer to the mat for some vicious, tendon stretching submissions.
Blood came back strong as this match continued and just missed a head kick. Yurei made a comeback but it was Blood who pulled ahead at the end of this one, hitting another attempt at a head kick, and pinned Yurei for the win.
Roughed up but victorious, Tracy Blood advanced to the next round of the Wildheart tournament. There was little time to celebrate because Phueng Ahunai ran down to ringside and attacked Blood from behind. Ahunai dropped Blood with a flipping neck breaker and sent a message that she isn’t playing around when they meet in the next round of the tournament!
The World Title Setup
Kimberly Kennedy was in the ring and introduced the RFW World Champion Kassidy Fortune and her challenger at Spring Shockwave, Kami King. Fortune and King had the opportunity to address each other. King told Fortune that she respected her and understands that her desire to become champion won’t come easy. Fortune began to speak complimentary about King but that’s when The Four Elements came down to the ring to spoil everything.
Shannon Worth looked amused as she regarded Fortune and King. Killer Malone, Tommy V, and Marcus stood behind her and it made this confrontation even more uncomfortable.
“Welcome back, Kami King! You may have this new ‘attitude’ look to you but you are still cute a button! You can charm the fans but that cuteness isn’t great championship material. And you, Kassidy Fortune, our reigning RFW World Champion. You are a truly, truly great champion... but you don’t compare to me. I think the time has come for me to take my title back.” -Shannon Worth
Fortune told Worth that she needed to get in line but Worth said she isn’t like the rest and will take what she wants, when she wants it. Bold, but not a surprising statement for The Four Elements. King surprised everyone by hitting Worth a super kick! Malone, Tommy V, and Marcus looked shocked and started to move toward King but Fortune stood next to her and both women stood up to these bullies.
Then Paisley Alden dove into the ring and struck King from behind. Fortune tried to stop Alden but Worth managed to get back to her feet and hit Fortune with a spinning elbow. The Four Elements, Alden, and Cool Spencer gathered around King and Fortune as Worth assaulted them, leaving both motionless in the ring. Worth picked up the RFW World Championship and left the ring with it. The Four Elements are out of control! And we’re out of time! See you next week, Rapid Fire Fanatics!
