This is it, fans, the finale of our 2025 Rapid Fire Festival! We’ve got a lot of action jammed into this one with every title on the line and several grudge matches to round out the action. I’m Shawn Roberts, the voice of RFW, and I am so excited to be your guide through this mega show!

Welcome to Rapid Fire Wrestling!

Tracy Blood vs. Phueng Ahunai

We hit the ground running with the rubber match between RFW veteran Tracy Blood and RFW’s self-proclaimed next generation, Phueng Ahunai. These two have been in the ring with each other all Festival long without a clean winner and both of these women want that decisive victory to their name.

We got a hot opening match, well, more of a fight, from the get go. Blood outmatched Ahunai on the strikes but Ahunai was strategic and attacked Blood’s ankle which was banged up a bit from their match last week. Ahunai was more focused this time and while she couldn’t resist taunting Blood she did less of it than last time.

Blood sent Ahunai flying over the ropes to the floor and met her on the outside after blasting her with a baseball slide knee strike under the bottom rope. Blood climbed on Ahunai and pummeled her with fists until Ahunai pushed her away. Blood chased Ahunai through the crowd until Ahunai took someone’s beach towel and threw it over Blood’s face. This gave Ahunai a moment to recover and then nail Blood with a clothesline. Ahunai viciously attacked Blood as she dragged her back to the ring.

The action continued within the ropes with both women refusing to stay down. Ahunai once again went at Blood’s ankle, which slowed her down, but the former RFW Champion continued to fight. Ahunai fell to a head kick but staggered instead of falling. Blood went for a followup but Ahunai ducked and immediately fired back with a flipping neck breaker. Ahunai used a second neck breaker for good measure, covered for the pin and won this match.

Phueng Ahunai picked up a solid win here in what has been a solid first year in RFW so far. Tracy Blood looked disappointed in defeat but approached Ahunai and offered a handshake. Ahunai took one look at Blood’s hand, turned and walked away parading the ring in victory.

Hector Diaz vs. Andre Jordan

It’s been a strange year for Andre Jordan. The dude was RFW Grand Champion at the start of the year, proposed to Lucia Mendez, got rejected, and began a downward spiral that saw his title reign end and all his thoughts on Mendez. Jealousy fueled Jordan’s encounter with Mendez’s friend Hector Diaz.

Mendez was nowhere to be seen here as she had a match to get ready for but it didn’t stop Jordan from giving Diaz a mouthful about boundaries before Diaz smacked him in the face to get the action going! Diaz looked really great here against the former champion with Jordan backpedaling and even getting on his knees begging for forgiveness. It was awkward to see but, of course, it was all a ruse. Jordan tried to pull a fast one on Diaz but Diaz was having none of it, stopping Jordan’s attempt to attack and locking him in a submission.

Jordan was in trouble here but a well-placed headbutt to the temple at an angle the referee couldn’t see turned the table. Jordan now came roaring into this match like a lion and handled Diaz with a smooth combo of takedowns and slams. Jordan couldn’t put Diaz away with submissions or by pin which frustrated him leading to a moment where Diaz rolled him up in a small package. It wasn’t enough to get the pin though it did give Diaz a late match comeback. Unfortunately for Diaz, it wasn’t enough because one belly-to-belly suplex later and Jordan covered him for the win.

Andre Jordan won this match and then, shortly after leaving ringside, he approached Lucia Mendez and tried to win her back. Jordan said he took care of Hector Diaz and now wants to make things right with her. Mendez was furious with Jordan, told him to stay away from her, and stormed off to prepare for her match. Jordan watched Mendez walk off and smiled.

“I’ll get you to come around yet. I can fix this.” -Andre Jordan

Creepy.

Meghan DeWitt w/Annika vs. Yurei

In my opinion, Meghan DeWitt proved herself to be the real deal when she carried the RFW Wildheart Championship for what is currently the longest reign in the title’s history. Despite this accomplishment, DeWitt received no respect from Yurei. Yurei may be one of the toughest in RFW but if there’s one woman who may be even tougher, it’s her rival Annika. DeWitt and Annika don’t exactly get along these days but Annika agreed to help DeWitt get ready for this match and even came down to ringside to support her.

Yurei looked angry that Annika was standing nearby but focused on her match with DeWitt. This match was almost like watching an MMA fight early on with Yurei initially being on offense. Annika fired off commands to DeWitt which helped her bring a strong offense of her own. The action went back and forth until DeWitt was clotheslined over the ropes to the outside where she appeared to injure her arm.

Annika checked on DeWitt which caused Yurei to confront her leading to these bitter rivals to engage in a heated argument. With Yurei distracted, DeWitt was able to recover and get back on the attack. Back in the ring, DeWitt was looking strong but when Yurei dodged a flying knee she was able to grab DeWitt and choke her out, securing the victory.

Yurei walked off victorious while Meghan DeWitt was helped to her feet by Annika. After a short conversation, DeWitt extended her hand in a gesture of appreciation. Annika accepted the handshake but then rolled DeWitt to the mat and locked her in an arm breaker! DeWitt screamed, unable to break free, until her best friend, Mia Mercury, ran down to chase Annika off.

I was able to get word after the show that Meghan DeWitt suffered a fractured arm and may not be ready to compete at the start of our fall season. What I want to know is what Annika was thinking. This was a vicious, uncalled for assault.

RFW Tag Team Championship Match

Lords of Chaos vs. The Navigators (c)

The Navigators have been on one hell of a championship run though they had their hands full against a seriously dangerous and revived Lords of Chaos. Rex Anarchy and Ruslan Panov came knocking for the titles and while The Navigators have been confident going into this one, the Lords of Chaos certainly made it known that they didn’t come to play nice.

As expected, the champs were humming like a fine-tuned machine while Lords of Chaos hit hard, fast, and dirty. Panov grabbed Aidan North by the hair to drag him from the ring and grate his face across the steel steps while Rex Anarchy blocked Pete Arrow from coming to his aid. This match turned into a fight outside the ring causing the referee to step out to try and get some order back.

North drove Panov’s head into the ring post which bought him a little time to get back in the ring and take flight over the top rope to splash on to Anarchy. The Navigators got their opponents back into the ring and had a lot of momentum as this match continued until Anarchy broke up a pin and quickly dropped Arrow with a DDT. This gave Panov time to recover and was the beginning of a big comeback for the challengers.

Arrow was on the receiving end of a relentless attack from Lords of Chaos but refused to stay down. Panov tried for a curb stomp but Arrow rolled out of the way, tagged in North who took flight from the top rope, and started a high energy rally as this match came down the final stretch! Lords of Chaos tried to maintain their control on this one but The Navigators are champions for a reason and it was just a matter of time before Arrow power bombed Panov just as North landed on him with a shooting star press. 1, 2, 3 and The Navigators retained, continuing their lengthy streak as RFW Tag Team Champions!

The Navigators celebrated this one under the sun but while everyone was focused on the victorious champions, I noticed Rex Anarchy and Ruslan Panov walked away from the ring having a bit of an argument between each other.

RFW Wildheart Championship Match

Lucia Mendez vs. Alexandra Morgan (c) w/Claudia Winter

The Wildheart was on the line and the challenger, Lucia Mendez, was looking for this match to be her long-awaited breakout moment now that she is without Andre Jordan and on her own. Alexandra Morgan, however, chose Mendez as her opponent because she believed Mendez was still too distracted by Jordan to be focused enough. I thought this was out of character for Morgan but when you’ve got Claudia Winter in your ear for guidance I guess people shouldn’t be surprised.

Mendez had a brief moment where she caught the champion off guard and came in blazing hot on the offense. Morgan shut this down with a surprising spinning side slam and while it wasn’t enough to end this match it turn the tide. Morgan began a lengthy offensive and ground down Mendez slam-by-slam, submission-by-submission, all while Winter watched pleasantly from ringside.

Morgan tried to put Mendez away several times as this match continued but Mendez clearly had not intention of missing her chance to carry gold in RFW. Her persistence began to frustrate Morgan which led to a moment of distraction that brought Mendez roaring back into this thing! Mendez locked on an absolutely vicious triangle hold and screamed as she put everything she had into the submission. Morgan was able to get to a rope to break the hold but Mendez started a massive comeback that had Winter panicking. Morgan struggled to get to her feet while Mendez stood ready to strike. Winter jumped up on the apron to distract her but Mendez quickly jumped over the ropes, grabbed Winter, and suplexed her off the apron to the sand below. A cloud of sand blew away from the impact.

Mendez, full of fire, dove back into the ring to finish the job but was clotheslined by a recovered Morgan. Morgan followed up with another spinning side slam, covered for the pin, and successfully defended the RFW Wildheart Championship.

Lucia Mendez left this match without the title but I think she proved that she came focused on the task at hand. Claudia Winter once again proved herself an asset and Alexandra Morgan proved herself a fierce champion.

Six Person Tornado Tag Match

Lost Cause vs. The Elements

The emergence of The Elements in RFW and their attempts to recruit Rus Samson has affected the bond of Lost Cause, RFW’s lovable goofballs. Cool Spencer, Paisley Alden, and Samson stood together in the ring but there was clear tension that could be felt. Conversely, Tommy V, Marcus, and Shannon Worth looked in solid unity. Both teams stood face to face as the sun set on Miami Beach and the bell rang to get this one started.

You didn’t need a keen eye to see that Spencer and Samson were not on the same page in this match. The run-ins with The Elements had clearly fractured the trust between these two. Alden tried to keep them focused throughout the action. Tornado tags are pretty much a free-for-all and led to three individual battles; Worth and Alden, Marcus and Spencer, and Tommy V and Samson. Tommy V threw Samson into the steel steps outside the right and left the big man laying on the sand which allowed him to join Marcus in ganging up on Spencer. Alden was similarly left vulnerable and Worth joined in to triple team on Marcus.

Samson stepped into the ring and stared down The Elements. A long, tense stare between him and The Elements was broken as he smiled, stepped toward the group, and embraced them. Samson joined The Elements??? Alden, recovering, saw this and began crying. With Samson as the missing piece of the newly formed Four Elements things were looking grim for what was left of Lost Cause. Samson looked down at Spencer, back at The Elements, and suddenly clotheslined both Tommy V and Marcus! Worth retreated from the ring. Believing Lost Cause was not a lost cause! Samson helped his partner to his feet and the trio began to work together to fight off The Elements.

This was looking good for Lost Cause, but, just as they were closing in on winning this thing someone wearing a hoodie dove into the ring and belted both Samson and Spencer with a strong fist that knocked them both out. Alden looked stunned and was too distracted to see Worth come up behind her and hit a spinning elbow. A grinning Worth watched as the mystery attacker pulled the hood down revealing himself to be Killer Malone! Worth covered Alden for a pin and picked up the win here and now we know, after a Festival full of intrigue on who would make The Four Elements complete, Killer Malone as joined their ranks.

The Four Elements stood together in solidarity. Shannon Worth was clearly excited about this, hugging her teammates and then mockingly laughed at Lost Cause who regrouped on the outside.

While The Four Elements stood triumphant in the ring, Cool Spencer and Paisley Alden regrouped with Rus Samson but Samson, to everyone’s surprise, pushed Spencer away and walked off on his own leaving his running mates left behind in confusion.

This was quite a series of events. Killer Malone is back in RFW. The Four Elements are complete. Lost Cause is in chaos. This was a lot to take in and we’ve still got two championship matches to cover!

RFW Grand Championship Match

Kenneth Cobb vs. The Iconoclast (c) w/Dezzy Nightshade

The Iconoclast began his second RFW Grand Championship reign this spring when he dethroned Andre Jordan and Kenneth Cobb came to RFW looking for that title. When Dezzy Nightshade’s purple mist had no effect on Cobb it showed the champion that he had to face someone unlike any other.

Cobb came to the ring ready for a fight and maintained eye contact with The Iconoclast as he made his way to the ring. Nightshade circled around Cobb with a look of anger and disbelief as no one has ever withstood her mist. Cobb and Nightshade had a short stare down before Cobb spit a yellow mist into Nightshade’s face causing her to fall to the mat! Cobb smirked as Nightshade, who was completely paralyzed, and removed from the ring by officials. I’ve seen some crazy stuff over the years but I have to say that this one will be remembered for some time!

With the odds evened and the bell rung, this match got underway and was absolutely brutal. The Iconoclast, clearly angry that Cobb eliminated his protege, was vicious in his early attacks but Cobb absorbed blow and blow and came firing back with fists before tossing the champion from the ring. The action went out to the sand where Cobb body slammed the champion before climbing the ring apron and jumping off with a diving elbow. Cobb was firmly on offense until The Iconoclast threw him headfirst into the steel ring steps. The champ began choking Cobb on the sand, forcing the referee to step in and get this match back into the ring.

The Iconoclast brutally whipped Cobb from buckle to buckle, slammed him with high overhead slams, and used a rolling senton into the corner. Cobb refused to stay down which seemed to frustrate The Iconoclast. As the punishment increased, it was impressive to see Cobb continue to stay in this match. The Iconoclast tried for chokeslam power bomb but Cobb somehow turned it into a face buster, stunning the champion and giving him a moment to recover.

Cobb began a methodic, but hard-hitting comeback. The Iconoclast struggled to break the momentum and, after hitting his face on a turnbuckle, stumbled backward into Cobb’s arms for a sleeper hold. The Iconoclast struggled as Cobb cinched that submission in tight. In December 2020, in an HAW ring, Cobb defended the HAW National Championship against The Iconoclast using this very hold and it looked like it was going to work here, too! The Iconoclast faded to one knee and, folks, I really thought this was it. To my surprise, The Iconoclast used one last bit of strength to lift himself up, fling Cobb forward overhead, and send the challenger crashing to the mat!

The Iconoclast and Cobb continued to clash until the champion caught Cobb with a chokeslam power bomb. Cobb somehow kicked out but a second chokeslam power bomb into the turnbuckle, and then a third to the mat for good measure was enough to keep him down this time. The Iconoclast pinned Cobb to win this match and continue his reign as champion.

The Iconoclast stood victorious, on shaky knees, and held the RFW Grand Championship belt over his head before leaving Kenneth Cobb in the ring. Cobb rolled out and walked away from the ring, slapping hands with fans on his way. He looked disappointed in defeat but I don’t think there is anyone in RFW who could have given The Iconoclast the trouble that Cobb did throughout this Rapid Fire Festival.

RFW World Championship Match

Jessie Vega w/Lee Lee Hunt vs. Kassidy Fortune (c)

Main event time! Jessie Vega, celebrating ten years as a pro wrestler, earned herself a title shot against one of the hardest working women in the sport today, Kassidy Fortune. Vega came into this match hoping to boost her profile as pop music star and World Champion. Fortune was determined to show Vega that the title is more than a piece of jewelry and career statement and instead a symbol of the prestige of RFW. It was a battle of ideology, fans, and one that our summer finale delivered on!

Vega found herself on defense early on while her manager, Lee Lee Hunt, yelled words of encouragement from ringside. Fortune looked strong as champion, and determined, showing laser focus. Vega caught Fortune’s leg and twisted her to the mat, seeming to damage the champion’s knee. This gave Vega the opportunity to really get into this match. I think people think of Vega’s success as a music star and forget that she has also developed into a solid wrestler. Not a one trick pony, Vega twisted and torqued Fortune’s leg, used a variety of holds and strikes to great effect. Fortune struggled to fight off Vega’s offense. After Vega drove Fortune’s knee cap into the mat, she climbed the ropes and jumped off with a frog splash. Fortune rolled away causing the challenger to crash to the mat!

Fortune got back into this match but it was clear her knee was causing her problems. Vega had answers for many of Fortune’s offensive attempts and this match went back-and-forth as it continued. Fortune started to bring through with some offense and managed to catch Vega off the ropes with a cutter. Vega’s momentum caused her twist while taking the cutter and her boot hit the referee square in the temple. The referee was out cold and was unable to count as Fortune covered Vega for the pin!

Enter Lee Lee Hunt. Vega’s irritating manager cautiously climbed into the ring and began to attack Fortune. Fortune took the hits and looked ready to retaliate but Vega recovered and dropped her with a DDT. Together, Vega and Hunt teamed up to attack Fortune while the referee was still knocked senseless. This was looking real bad for the champion but a sudden cheer from a section of the audience caused Vega to turn and look, first with curiosity. Then, with horror.

Maria Estrella, Vega’s scorned ex-girlfriend, emerged from the crowd looking absolutely furious, climbed into the ring and immediately clotheslined Hunt so hard that she didn’t move again. Everyone on the beach cheered for this. Yes. Even me.

Estrella turned her attention to Vega. Vega knew there was no talking her way out of this and tried to run but bumped right into Fortune who dropped her with a cutter. Estrella shook the referee awake who counted to three as Fortune covered Vega with a pin. Kassidy Fortune picked up the win and carries the RFW World Championship into our fall season.

The loss wasn’t enough for Jessie Vega. Maria Estrella picked up Vega and powerslammed her multiple times to the delight of the crowd. Estrella left the ring to Kassidy Fortune who closed out the show by celebrating in the ring and then with the fans standing around the ring under the stars.

That’s it for this year’s Rapid Fire Festival here in Miami Beach. Thank you so much for joining us and be sure to come back October 18th when we begin our fall season!
