Rapid Fire Festival 2024 Week 4 Results

Date: 07/27/2024

Location: Wildwood, NJ

We are one week away from our big Rapid Fire Festival finale and we had some big matches and tense encounters this week to get us there. Mark Blood’s championship open challenge continued, Kami King and Kassidy Fortune collided for a third time to settle the score, and Shannon Worth and Mia Mercury teamed up against Claudia Winter and Meghan DeWitt in the main event.

It’s another big show on the beach in Wildwood. I’m RFW Correspondent Kimberly Kennedy and this is Rapid Fire Wrestling!

RFW Grand Championship Open Challenge

RFW Grand Champion Mark Blood kicked off our show to put his championship up for grabs against anyone who wanted to challenge him. Blood had some hard-fought victories against Ruslan Panov, Preston Montgomery, and HAW’s Fun Fight Machine. This week, Blood was challenged by Ridge, a 24 year veteran of the ring looking to capture his first world title. Blood and Ridge shook hands in a show of respect and our first match was underway!

RFW Grand Championship Match

Ridge vs. Mark Blood

Mark Blood overpowered Ridge early in the match but the high flying ring veteran hit the champion with an explosive drop kick and began to build a strong offense off the ropes. Ridge nearly pinned Blood following a springboard moonsault but the champion kicked out.

Blood sent Ridge over the ropes to the floor with a clothesline and dropped down on Ridge with a double axe handle. The match quickly returned to the ring but the action continued to heat up with each man showing off their best offense. Ridge tried for a moonsault but Blood caught and dropped him with a tombstone piledriver. Blood pinned Ridge to win the match and defend the championship once again.

Mark Blood was celebrating his victory when an old rival spoiled the party. Rex Anarchy walked out to the ring to step up as Blood’s next challenger.

“You and I are no strangers. Four years ago, I took that title from you and next week I plan to repeat that performance. I’m not waiting for next week to call my shot. I’m giving you a heads up. See you next week, champ.” -Rex Anarchy

The promise of a rematch between Rex Anarchy and Mark Blood has me excited for next week but I am getting ahead of myself. We have much more to cover on this show so let’s keep going.

Once a Lost Cause Now a Lost Way

We went from one tense scene to another with Alexandra Morgan confronting Delilah backstage over once again not having a match on the show. Delilah insisted she had nothing to do with the match card but Morgan got physical and demanded a match with Delilah.

RFW Commissioner Tiger Johnson quickly put a stop to Morgan’s behavior, denying her the match. Morgan refused to back down, accusing Delilah of being incompetent and blaming Johnson for not giving her matches. The arguing attracted the attention of Morgan’s former running mates, Lost Cause. Paisley Alden expressed her disappointment in Morgan and had an idea to resolve the conflict with Delilah.

“I don’t know what happened to you, Lexi. You walked away from us, and we kind of got your reason for that, but the person you are becoming is not something we even kind of get. What a whiner. I’ve got an idea, Commish! Let me step in for Delilah. I’ll fight Alexandra Morgan.” -Paisley Alden

Johnson considered the idea and made the match official for next week’s show with the bonus of giving Lost Cause their jobs back if Alden can win the match.

Two Teams Collide

We went back to the ring where I interviewed RFW Tag Team Champions The Navigators. I got right to the topic of The Door coming after them for the titles. Pete Arrow laughed when he responded to my question.

“Those thugs had the gall to challenge us when we’ve been working hard to rehab the tag team division they helped damage. I wouldn’t give them a dollar if they begged us on the street so what makes them think we’d give them a crack at this prestigious belts.” -Pete Arrow

You know what happens next. The Door did not take kindly to that statement. Malcom and Richter came down to the ring with margaritas in hand (they didn’t bring any for the rest of us, by the way. Noted). Richter had his own thoughts on The Navigators.

“Yeah, so, you like to conveniently leave out details. You had to leave here and come back for people to pay attention to you again. I watched you in HAW. You were solid. I’ll give you that. But here’s the thing.” -Richter

It turned out there was no “thing” as Richter and Malcom splashed their drinks in Pete Arrow and Aidan North’s faces and began brawling with them like they did last week. Arrow was sent over the ropes to the floor and The Door tossed North like a javelin out on top of him. This encounter got out of hand quickly and, no surprise, Delilah later told me that The Door will challenge The Navigators for the titles next week.

Kami King vs. Kassidy Fortune

A competitive rivalry between Kami King and Kassidy Fortune has been heating up this summer and we saw the two settle that rivalry in this tie breaker match.

Fortune’s early offense in the match saw her gaining confidence but King proved difficult to pin. King kicked out of a pin after a pump handle slam from Fortune and laughed at Fortune’s frustration.

King turned the match in her favor with a desperate super kick that caught Fortune in the chin. King was slow to cover for a pin allowing Fortune to kick out but the move was enough to allow King to build a big offensive rally. Fortune dodged another super kick later in the match and hit King with one of her own. Fortune was unable to keep King down and both women traded strikes, slams, and submissions as it became clear that neither woman was willing to fall in defeat.

King’s spirited effort was admirable but it was Fortune who clipped King at the knees and created an opening for a cutter. Fortune pinned King to win the match.

Kassidy Fortune stood in the setting sun and soaked in her victory. Kami King sat on the sand outside the ring looking frustrated.

Giving Purpose

I was back at ringside to meet with Ruslan Panov. I asked Panov about his on-going issues with Killer Malone and his thoughts on their scheduled match on next week’s show. Panov revealed his plans for Malone.

“Malone, I want you to know that I am giving you a purpose that you badly need. You are lost but I will give you meaning again. Your purpose is to be the example for the rest of the roster. What I do to you next week is what the rest of the locker room can expect when I come for them.” -Ruslan Panov

Ruslan Panov is a man with a plan but Killer Malone is as calculated as they come. What happens between these two next week is anyone’s guess.

I Need to Know

Tracy Blood came down to the ring before I could leave to admit to me that she was bothered by Cate Stiles not respecting her. Blood acknowledged the bad history between them but said the long-standing rivalry with Stiles has made her respect Stiles as an opponent. I wanted to get to the heart of the issue so I invited the RFW World Champion to the ring.

Stiles came to the ring and had a long stare down with Blood before taking the microphone from me and offering her thoughts.

“You have never given me a reason to respect you. You walked in the door in 2016 and took the Valkyrie Championship that should have been mine. You and your brother cost me championships that you had to cheat to win. You had to put up roadblocks to stop me from challenging you. I never forgot any of that. I never forgave you. And I never respected you. But it feels good to know I got to you. You can’t accept that I see you for who you are.” -Cate Stiles

Blood looked hurt but shook it off and offered her own opinion of the situation.

“If you can’t accept me after all my accomplishments, that’s your problem. You are right about one thing, though. You did get to me. Your words stung. But, you know, it is clear to me that I got to you for years. And I still do.” -Tracy Blood

Stiles bit her lip and shook her head before tossing her championship belt aside and shoving Blood. The two argued until Stiles pushed Blood again and Blood responded with a lightning quick head kick. Stiles ducked and picked up Blood for a flap jack but Blood slipped free. The bitter rivals had another stare down before Blood walked off and left the champion alone.

These two rivals meet next week at our Rapid Fire Festival finale and is going to be a match you cannot miss.

Summer Concert Fallout

The tension in the ring was beginning to ease up, meanwhile, another situation was happening on the boardwalk.

Mary Jane Elder was with Travis Samuels and congratulating him on his musical performance last week. Samuels was gracious and said it was a career highlight to perform in front of the RFW fans. Jessie Vega and Maria Estrella felt differently about the performance.

“You stole my performance. That was supposed to be my night! I have my record company involved to make this right. As for Mary Jane, here, don’t let her fool you. She doesn’t care about you or your music. She just used you to get to me. We know you had something to do with my band’s travel plans being cancelled.” -Jessie Vega

You know, I’d give Mary Jane Elder the benefit of the doubt here, but she didn’t work hard to deny that fact. Maria Estrella had enough and challenged Elder to a match next week to finally put an end to their issues. Elder was happy to accept which setup another big match for next week’s finale.

Shannon Worth and Mia Mercury vs. The Diamond Peak (Claudia Winter and Meghan DeWitt) w/Preston Montgomery

RFW Wildheart Champion Shannon Worth’s defection from The Diamond Peak has caused a ripple effect throughout RFW. These issues pulled in Mia Mercury who teamed with Worth in this main event tag match against The Diamond Peak.

Meghan DeWitt handled much of the action for The Diamond Peak with Claudia Winter coaching from the apron and tagging in for quick offense before brining DeWitt back in.

Worth broke through DeWitt’s offense and hit Winter on the apron with a spinning elbow that sent her down to the sand. Preston Montgomery tended to The Diamond Peak leader while Worth and Mercury worked together on battling DeWitt.

DeWitt was in trouble but Winter recovered and returned to the ring apron. Winter taunted Worth while Montgomery got on the ring apron to cheer DeWitt on. Worth confronted Winter but was hit with a handful of sand to the eyes. Worth stumbled backward, DeWitt got to her feet and hit her with a flying knee, covered the champion and got the pinfall victory.

Mia Mercury climbed into the ring to check on Shannon Worth but Claudia Winter grabbed her from behind and locked her in a head scissor submission. Meghan DeWitt grabbed the RFW Wildheart Championship belt from ringside, stood over Shannon Worth and taunted her by holding the title high over her head.

Meghan DeWitt has an opportunity to win the RFW Wildheart Championship from Shannon Worth next week and thanks to this victory she has a lot of momentum going into the match. We’ll see you next week when we wrap up the Rapid Fire Festival with a big, action-packed finale!
