Rapid Fire Wrestling hosted the 100th edition of its flagship show with the crowning of a new RFW Grand Champion, The Navigators battle Tornado and Ridge, Kami King is in action against Yurei, and final confrontations before Mayday in Memphis round out the action.

Tornado and Ridge vs. The Navigators

The RFW Tag Team Champions opened the show in a non-title match against Tornado and Ridge. The Navigators took early control in the match with frequent tags and double team attacks. Tornado tagged in Ridge who made a big comeback knocking Aidan North out of the ring and allowing Tornado and he to isolate Pete Arrow.

Arrow overpowered Tornado late in the match but missed seeing Ridge get the tag. Arrow was caught by surprise by Ridge and defeated by pinfall. Tornado and Ridge won the match in a big victory against the tag champs.

The Navigators angrily grabbed their title belts and started leaving ringside when RFW Commissioner Tiger Johnson and his assistant Delilah appeared and informed the champions that they would have to defend the titles against Tornado and Ridge next week at Mayday in Memphis.

Hungry for Gold

RFW Wildheart Champion Kassidy Fortune came to the ring to talk about her upcoming title defense against Shannon Worth. Fortune hyped up the Wildheart Championship, its value in RFW, and believed Worth misunderstood that.

Claudia Winter led Worth to the ring to confront the champion but before she could speak, Worth took the microphone and spoke for herself.

“You think you know everything that goes on around here, don’t you? I do value the Wildheart Championship and I intend to win it from you. I intend to carry it with pride. You get some little glimpse at what happens inside of The Diamond Peak and think you know the story. You don’t. Yeah, it’s true I want the RFW World Championship back. Deep down, I know you want it, too. We all do. It is why we are here! But, Kassidy, I worked for the place that title was named after, too. I wanted that championship. When the RFW Wildheart Championship was introduced, I wanted that one, too. I’m hungry for gold. Your gold.” -Shannon Worth

Fortune was unimpressed and said Worth will continue being starved for gold. Worth wished Fortune good luck and added that she would need it.

Words of Support for Kami King

Kami King received a visitor prior to her match with Yurei later in the show. Tracy Blood, who was injured by Yurei, met with King backstage. Blood was wearing a neck brace and was using crutches but insisted she show up and give King her support as well as her brother’s RFW Grand Championship match later in the show. Blood warned King to be careful. King promised to make Yurei pay for hurting her.

Can’t Take a Joke

Kimberly Kennedy invited Jessie Vega and Maria Estrella to the ring to discuss their continuing problems with Mary Jane Elder. Elder had sabotaged the duo’s spa day the previous week requiring Vega and Estrella to undergo intense facial scrubs to remove their green stained faces. Vega and Estrella were very angry, their faces both bright red with abrasions and new skin.

Estrella recounted the grueling process to remove the stains from their faces. Vega began crying over the traumatic experience.

“I’m not some dumb, immature wrestler like Mary Jane Elder. I! Am! A star! A major music star! I had to cancel public appearances and photo ops. This little ‘joke’ puts my career in jeopardy! You can all laugh about it, ha ha! This is my livelihood!” -Jessie Vega

This outpouring of emotion brought out Elder who could not keep a straight face looking at Vega and Estrella. Elder asked the pair why they couldn’t take a joke. Estrella blamed Elder for ruining the romantic day she had planned with Vega and challenged Elder to a match at Mayday in Memphis.

A Dream Fight

Ruslan Panov seeked out Killer Malone backstage and revealed a reason for his decision to join RFW last year.

“I looked at this roster and there was someone I knew I needed to test myself against. That someone is you. Now I hoped we would meet in the tournament but seeing as that didn’t work, I want to extend the challenge to you. You and me, one-on-one, at Mayday in Memphis.” -Ruslan Panov

Malone showed interest in the challenge and accepted.

Kami King vs. Yurei

Kami King came to the ring for her match with Yurei. Yurei’s music began to play but she was nowhere to be found. The screen in the arena cut to a backstage camera feed where Yurei was savagely attacking the already injured Tracy Blood.

King ran to the backstage area to find Blood but was sneak attacked by Yurei on the way. Yurei roughed up King before spearing her through a door into a stairwell.

RFW reported that Kami King was bruised but did not suffer any significant injuries. King demanded another match with Yurei at Mayday in Memphis.

Rightful Place on Top

Claudia Winter led The Diamond Peak to the ring with the conspicuous absence of Shannon Worth. Winter had a message for RFW World Champion Cate Stiles in advance of her match against Meghan DeWitt at Mayday in Memphis.

“I want you to remember that I make stars. Meghan DeWitt came to me to open doors and get her the opportunities she has earned. I also want you to remember that I make champions. The Diamond Peak is a group of champions and next week she is going to take that World Championship from you.” -Claudia Winter

Stiles came to the ring to counter Winter’s claims.

“For a group made up of champions, not a single one of you carry one anymore. That doesn’t change next week when I take your new project, Meghan DeWitt, and send her back to the bottom of the pile.” -Cate Stiles

Stiles and Winter continued their debate until Winter got under Stiles’s skin and Stiles grabbed her by the shirt. Preston Montgomery stepped in to try and ease the situation but DeWitt had other plans. DeWitt blasted the distracted Stiles with a flying knee sending the champion crumpling to the mat. DeWitt stood over Stiles, grabbed the RFW World Championship belt and held it over her head as The Diamond Peak stood behind her in support.

MoW Grand Championship Tournament Final

The Iconoclast w/Dezzy Nightshade vs. Mark Blood

RFW had been without a Grand Champion since the retirement of Snarl last month and the tournament to determine a new champion ended here with The Iconoclast taking on Mark Blood in the finals.

The Iconoclast looked primed for the encounter with Dezzy Nightshade stalking around the ring in support. Blood looked rattled after the backstage attack on his sister but steeled himself when the bell rang. The Iconoclast overpowered Blood for much of the match but a mid-match surprise DDT from Blood gave him the opening he needed to begin fighting back.

Blood tried for a double axehandle off the second turnbuckle but was caught and driven to the mat. The Iconoclast used vicious slams to try and defeat Blood but he kicked out of several pin attempts. Blood made another comeback and began closing in on victory but when The Iconoclast was getting setup for a tombstone piledriver, he attempted to escape and his boot struck the referee.

The downed referee gave Nightshade a chance to enter the ring and distract Blood. Blood successfully dodged a spit of purple mist from Nightshade but the distraction was enough for The Iconoclast to strike Blood from behind. The Iconoclast used a chokeslam sitting powerbomb on Blood just as Nightshade shook the referee back to attention. The referee counted to three and The Iconoclast emerged victorious as the new RFW Grand Champion.

The Iconoclast roared in victory with the championship held high as Dezzy Nightshade stood beside him approvingly to close the show.

RFW announced after the show that Mark Blood would challenge The Iconoclast for the Grand Championship at Mayday in Memphis.
