MoW 30th Anniversary Show

Location: Philadelphia, PA

MoW celebrated thirty years since its first show in the fall of 1993. The promotion looked back on history while spotlighting the future on a night featuring special rules.

A Word From The Commissioner

MoW Commissioner Tiger Johnson entered the ring to kick off the show and welcome fans to the 30th anniversary celebration. Johnson said it was a night to look back on history but, more importantly, launch MoW into the future. Before leaving the ring, Johnson announced a special twist on the evening’s festivities.

“Many of you may remember our first supershow of the modern era, Open Fight Night, where all the matches were decided by open challenges. Tonight, we are running this show on open fight night rules. I am just as excited about what is to come tonight as you all are. Thank you again for your years of support and have a great night!” -Tiger Johnson

Johnson left the ring as the crowd buzzed with anticipation.

Starting With A Bang

MoW’s 30th anniversary wasted no time getting into high gear with the surprise return of Aurora Starkey, who had not appeared on an MoW show since April. Starkey was excited to celebrate with the fans and acknowledged recent changes, issuing a big challenge in the process.

“I saw my old rival, Kassidy Fortune, is carrying that new MoW Wildheart Championship these days. Seeing as tonight is open fight night, I want to test the champion and see if she can hold onto that prize. Kassidy Fortune, I challenge you, right here and now, for the MoW Wildheart Championship!” -Aurora Starkey

Fortune came down to the ring with a look of amusement and irritation as she prepared for her title defense.

Aurora Starkey brought a difficult challenge to the new champion, nearly pinning Kassidy Fortune on multiple occasions. Fortune fought back just as hard and surprised Starkey with the more aggressive offense she has been using throughout the year.

Starkey showed an impressive display against the champion but Fortune secured victory by pinfall after a cutter.

The First Family of MoW Celebrate 30 Years

A video played for the audience that showed clips of moments throughout MoW history, including Mike Blood winning the first MoW Championship, the rise of The Druid, Snarl debuting and dominating the roster, the 2019 relaunch, first Final Round supershow, various wrestlers competing in the ring, Cate Stiles winning the MoW Championship, and Shannon Worth celebrating her record breaking MoW Championship reign.

There is one name that has been synonymous with MoW from the beginning. MoW has never existed without a member of the Blood family on its roster. MoW’s first family came to the ring to celebrate the 30 year anniversary with the fans.

Blood family patriarch and first ever MoW Champion, Mike Blood was joined by his daughter, Tracy Blood, and his son, Honor Pro Wrestling’s Mark Blood. Mike talked about the early days of MoW, running shows in front of a dozen people and being there as the promotion grew.

“I didn’t know if we were going to make it or not but I was having fun. It reminded me of why I wanted to become a wrestler and MoW kept me from giving up the dream. That original five year run of MoW was a time I will never forget and I am so thankful to have been a part.” -Mike Blood

Mark spoke next and recalled growing up backstage in MoW, dreaming to one day compete in its ring.

“2019 comes around and I get the call. MoW is coming back and we want you to be a part of it. Dream come true. Winning the MoW Championship was surreal. Being here and competing in front of you fans is something I will always cherish. I had to leave here, but don’t be mistaken, I am forever an MoW guy and I am grateful to see its legacy continue forward.” -Mark Blood

Tracy spoke last and talked about her own experiences being around MoW as a little girl, coming to MoW in 2020, and feeling at home in MoW.

“We are celebrating 30 years since the start of MoW, a moment in history that deserves to be remembered. But this promotion has a bright future ahead of it that we should be looking to. Today we have the greatest roster MoW has ever had and I am proud to be a part of it.” -Tracy Blood

The Blood family thanked the audience for their support of MoW and bowed before leaving the ring.

Taking Charge

The Diamond Peak’s Pierre Laurent came to the ring with Claudia Winter by his side. Laurent wasted no time calling out his former partner, Preston Montgomery.

“I could be champion right now if it wasn’t for you getting in my business at Tidal Wave. Come down to this ring so I can beat an apology out of you!” -Pierre Laurent

Montgomery came to the ring to face his former friend for a match that went back and forth. Montgomery kept an eye on Winter as she coached Laurent from outside the ring. Laurent began a cold blooded attack on Montgomery as the match advanced but Montgomery made a huge comeback. Montgomery was poised to win but Winter wanted to send a message and blasted Montgomery from behind, causing a disqualification. Laurent beat down Montgomery until the referee pulled him away.

Get Noticed

Meghan DeWitt and Annika were backstage practicing some strikes when DeWitt stopped and confided in her friend that she is frustrated by her failure to get more prominent placement on shows despite working hard to improve. Annika said that in-ring talent isn’t always enough and suggested DeWitt should do something more to make herself get noticed. DeWitt considered this and then challenged Annika to a match. Annika was confused, but agreed to an exhibition with her.

DeWitt and Annika traded strikes and takedowns in a tough match that escalated in intensity as the women struggled to top one another. Late in the match, DeWitt charged at Annika and drove a flying knee into her side. Annika appeared to have injured ribs, though she waved off the referee when he checked on her. DeWitt ran in for a second knee strike before Annika was ready. The knee struck her in the face and dropped her to the mat. DeWitt pinned Annika to win the match.

Meghan DeWitt stood in the ring with her arm raised. Meanwhile, Annika had to be helped out of the ring. It was later reported that Annika suffered bruised ribs and a broken nose that would keep her out of action for a few weeks.

A Bold Challenger

Chez Everett came to the ring with a simple observation and a challenge to go along with it.

“Everybody is talking about how Cate Stiles is ‘back’ but ignores the fact that this division hasn’t stood still. Cate Stiles, I am better than you ever were and it is time for people to understand that.” -Chez Everett

Cate Stiles answered the call and found a strong challenger with Everett. Everett looked impressive as she maintained offense but Stiles broke through with a strong comeback before forcing Everett to submit with the ankle lock.

Everett sat on the mat while Stiles had her arm raised. Stiles looked to Everett and gave her a nod of approval before Everett left the ring.

High Stakes Stipulation

Paul Priest was backstage with Delilah and was vocal about his determination to get Lucia Mendez to work for him at his club. Delilah pleaded with Priest to drop the idea and instead focus on improving the club. Delilah revealed that she had been taking business classes and had some ideas to improve marketing and revenues.

Priest ignored Delilah, turned around, and found himself standing face-to-face with Andre Jordan who was incredulous that Priest would not leave Mendez alone. Priest then challenged Jordan to one final match with the stipulation that if he wins, Mendez must come work for him. Jordan immediately refused to put Mendez in that situation.

Mendez cut in with a surprising challenge of her own.

“I want to be done with this so here is my offer. I face Delilah in a match, right now, and if she wins I will come work for you. But if I win, you back off for good. You never approach me again. Deal?” -Lucia Mendez

Priest agreed to the match between Mendez and Delilah. The match saw Mendez in total control of the encounter with Delilah trying to escape submissions. Priest caused multiple distractions which led to Jordan confronting him. Priest attacked Jordan, sending him face first into the ring post. Priest stood on the apron to distract Mendez further but she punched him in the face. The distraction was enough for Delilah to use a neckbreaker, roll Mendez up for a pin, and use the ropes as leverage to secure an upset, heartbreaking win.

Paul Priest was overjoyed with Delilah’s win. Meanwhile, Andre Jordan comforted Lucia Mendez as they sat on the mat together. Mendez reluctantly left his arms when Priest beckoned her to come with him. Jordan watched as Priest, Delilah, and Mendez left ringside together.

A Look Back at SCSF

NCSF’s Hardcore Adam and Tornado came to the ring to speak about SCSF, the promotion Tornado’s father and Adam competed in early in their careers. Tornado spoke of SCSF’s importance to MoW.

“Before MoW, there was SCSF. It helped build the foundation for everything we have in this business today. We wanted to come out here and show gratitude for what SCSF did for all of us in the ring and every one of you in the audience.” -Tornado

A video is shown of Cyclone, Tornado’s father, winning multiple championships throughout his career. Rockon, Alexandra Morgan’s father, is shown winning the SCSF Championship and being one of the toughest men in the promotion. The rise of The Mob stable is shown with a presence in both SCSF and MoW. Scenes of father/son team of Crunchy and Grumpy competing in the ring and Crunchy’s dominant run at top star. Finally, Hardcore Adam (then known simply as Adam) rising through the tag team ranks, becoming SCSF Tag Team Champion, and earning the name “The Master of Submissions.”

Hardcore Adam gave final comments, reflecting on SCSF’s own 30th anniversary and him being a part of its history.

“It is humbling to look back at something so important and know that i played a small part. It is impossible to separate my career from SCSF and I am honored to carry its legacy forward through decades.” -Hardcore Adam

Tornado and Adam thanked the fans and greeted fans in the audience on their way backstage.

MoW Team Championship Match

Ruslan Panov and Oleg Azarov vs. The Door (c)

Ruslan Panov and Oleg Azarov challenged the new MoW Team Champions to a title match which turned into one of the most brutal matches the tag team division had seen.

The match featured many power moves but left plenty of room for violent strikes, leaving Panov, Malcom, and Richter all bloody. Azarov was not spared either as he was driven to the floor off the ring apron with a spinebuster. Panov clotheslined Richter over the ropes to clear the ring leaving a weakened Malcom in position for curb stomps from the challenger. Richter recovered in time to break up a pin attempt before The Door eked out a victory to retain the titles.

The Door looked worse for wear as they stood victorious but had the energy to gloat about their win, leading to a stand off with Panov and Azarov, suggesting these teams have unfinished business.

The Battle Continues

MoW Correspondent Kimberly Kennedy was backstage with Cole Arcade and asked him about his loss against Rex Anarchy at Tidal Wave. Arcane brushed off the loss, suggesting his feud with Anarchy was far from over, and challenged Anarchy to meet him in the ring for a match.

Arcane made his way toward the ring but was confronted by Anarchy in the hallway. The two brawled before they could get to the ring and the fight spilled out of the building and into the parking lot. Arcane reached his car and tried to escape but Anarchy jumped into the passenger seat as the car pulled away. The car jerked from side to side as it pulled out onto the road toward the highway.

The Sweetheart of MoW Returns

MoW’s first woman champion, Maria Estrella, returned to MoW following an almost year long absence. Estrella addressed the audience and confirmed she was back full time with the company.

“Things always change around here but there is something that is the same now as it was when I stepped away. Shannon Worth is still the MoW Champion. That is impressive. But what’s say we try and change that tonight. How does the longest reigning champion in MoW history and the first champion in history meeting in this ring with the title on the line sound?” -Maria Estrella

MoW Champion Shannon Worth came to the ring with her Claudia Winter by her side to accept the challenge. The match began with Worth edging ahead of Estrella early on but Estrella soon showed she hadn’t gotten rusty in her time away. The contest went back and forth with several near falls. Estrella made an offense push and used her powerslam on Worth. Estrella pinned the champion but Worth was able to kick out. Winter was stunned by Worth’s near loss and became very nervous. Worth was able to fight her way back into the match and pinned Estrella following a spinning elbow.

A relieved Claudia Winter raised Shannon Worth’s arm in victory. Worth looked confident as she furthered her history defining championship run in a win against one of the most accomplished women in MoW.

Open Challenge by the Champion

MoW Champion Killer Malone came to the ring to address the open fight night rules and his position as champion.

“There is a locker room full of wrestlers eager to hold this title and I want to defend it tonight. I’m here in the middle of this ring so if there’s anyone back there who wants a shot at this title, walk down here and let’s do this!” -Killer Malone

The lights dimmed and the challenger Killer Malone expected was the last person on anyone’s mind. MoW’s resident phantom, Dr. Insidious, answered the call. Malone looked surprised but ready for his dangerous challenger.

Despite initial aggression from Dr. Insidious, Malone proved to be a fighting champion and maintained continuous offense. Malone had Insidious backed against the ropes when he ran in for a knockout punch but Insidious rolled through the ropes to the outside. Malone followed and fell into a dangerous trap. Insidious brutally attacked Malone before using three chokeslams on the hard floor outside the ring.

Malone was hurt but tried to fight back. Insidious rolled Malone inside the ring and used two more chokeslams before pinning the champion and becoming the new MoW Champion.

Dr. Insidious grabbed the MoW Championship from the referee and stood over the fallen Killer Malone. As Insidious reached down to deliver more punishment, Snarl’s music began to play and the MoW legend came down to the ring. Snarl had not been seen since he was taken out on a stretcher at Final Round 2022 due to injuries caused by Dr. Insidious.

Dr. Insidious and Snarl had a stare down in the ring. Insidious held his ground but then moved back and stepped out of the ring, taking his newly won MoW Championship with him. Snarl watched from the ring as the show closed.

Too Late

Cool Spencer, Paisley Alden, Alexandra Morgan, and Rus Samson arrive at the arena, on foot, long after the show ended and the audience cleared out. They missed the show.

The group stood around unsure of what to do before Alden spoke up.

“Commissioner Johnson told us to be here before the show. He’s gunna be bloody pissed.” -Paisley Alden

Spencer calmly raised a hand and assured everyone they would be ok because of what the shaman told them. The group walked away and headed to Portland for next week’s fall premiere of Rapid Fire Wrestling.
