Rapid Fire Festival 2026 Week 1 Results
Location: Pensacola, FL
Welcome back to Rapid Fire Wrestling, fans! I am Kimberly Kennedy here on the beaches of Pensacola, Florida and can only mean one thing. The Rapid Fire Festival is back! We set up our ring on the sands and for the next four weeks we have the hottest action in wrestling! I have all the news you need to know about week 1 so without further delay, let’s get into it.
Welcome to the Rapid Fire Festival!
The World Champion Opens the Festival
Shannon Worth captured the RFW World Championship for the second time at Spring Shockwave when she won a triple threat against Kami King and the now former champion, Kassidy Fortune.
Our new world champion kicked off the festival by coming to the ring with The Four Elements, Paisley Alden, and Cool Spencer in tow. Worth and her Four Elements stable mates celebrated with bottles of beer and though Spencer and Alden looked happy to be there it continued to be clear, to me anyway, that they aren’t truly in the fold as they stayed in the background, sans beer. Worth was uncharacteristically upbeat as she addressed the audience as the new champion.
“It’s all looking up here in RFW these days, isn’t it? Marcus and Tommy V have been carrying those tag titles and now I’m back where I belong as your World Champion. All is right with the world and it’s just going to get better from here because The Four Elements aren’t done. We’ve got plenty more to do!” -Shannon Worth
Despite her considerable backup, Worth’s celebration was interrupted by Kassidy Fortune who looked amused as she walked through the sand and the rowdy crowd to hop the barricade around the ring and step into the ring, microphone in hand.
“Sorry to break up your little party but I came out to... congratulate you. Yeah, that’s right. You earned it. You successfully weaseled your way into my match with Kami and you successfully pinned... Kami. But hey, what is fair is fair. But the thing is, Shannon, you didn’t beat the champion.” -Kassidy Fortune
Worth rolled her eyes and asked what her point was and Fortune made it clear. She wanted a rematch against Worth. Alden stepped up and called Alden a sore loser and began making fun of her until Kami King’s music began playing and she made her way down the aisle, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Fortune.
“You know something, Paisley? You sure do like to fight Shannon’s battles for her. In fact, if it wasn’t for you interfering at Spring Shockwave, I don’t think she’d even be champion right now.” -Kami King
Tempers began to flare but Worth stepped back and called off The Four Elements from getting involved. As Worth and her entourage backed up the aisle, Fortune pointed to the World Championship belt over Worth’s shoulder and King never let her stare leave Alden. I learned moments after this encounter that Kami King and Paisley Alden would meet later on in the main event.
“The Insomniac” Kenneth Cobb vs. “Firehawk” Steve Curtis w/Preston Montgomery
Kenneth Cobb came to the ring looking appropriately tired and ready for a fight. His opponent was the hot newcomer “Firehawk” Steve Curtis. Curtis was, as usual, joined by Preston Montgomery.
Curtis came out strong early in this match but Cobb withstood the pummeling before firing back with his own brand of hard-hitting offense. Curtis looked to be in trouble but Montgomery got on the ring apron and tried to distract Cobb. Cobb wasn’t entertaining Montgomery and sent him collapsing to the sand with a headbutt. Curtis tried to capitalize on the short distraction but Cobb avoided a lariat and locked Curtis in a sleeper hold. Cobb turned the sleeper into a something resembling a dragon suplex and then successfully pinned Curtis!
Kenneth Cobb was the winner here. Meanwhile, Preston Montgomery appeared upset with Steve Curtis who looked frustrated as she made his way backstage.
A Big Return
It is always exciting when RFW favorites make their return. Mark Blood, who last appeared back in December at Final Round, met with fans as he walked down the aisle toward the ring to address everyone. Blood revealed he had come back to address a serious concern.
“I spent this past season thinking about when the time was right to come back here and what I’ve seen lately was enough to let me know that time is right now. The Four Elements are a growing threat here and I only see things getting worse. They’ve only gotten more dangerous and I am back to put a stop to it!” -Mark Blood
Blood was unsurprised to see RFW Tag Team Champions Marcus and Tommy V along with Killer Malone come to the ring. Before they could reach him, Blood has a surprise. He wasn’t alone. Emerging from the crowd and joining Blood in the ring was my old broadcast colleague and “The Voice of RFW” Shawn Roberts. That’s right, fans. Shawn Roberts is back in action and he stood united with Mark Blood. The Four Elements stopped in their tracks and though they looked to be taking this in stride, their refusal to approach the ring any further said it all. They have problems and their names are Mark Blood and Shawn Roberts.
Open Challenge
Alexandra Morgan hasn’t been herself since losing the RFW Wildheart Championship back at Final Round. No longer represented by Claudia Winter, Morgan stormed to the ring on her own and demanded a worthy opponent that she can “smash” and step over their broken body on her way to the top of RFW. Yikes.
Morgan’s challenge was answered, surprisingly, by Claudia Winter! Winter stepped out onto the sand and addressed her former client.
“I know how badly you want people to truly see you the way you do, and the way I did. You want a real challenge tonight, right? Well, I’ve got someone backstage that fits the description. Allow me to introduce your opponent, Mia Mercury!” -Claudia Winter
Mia Mercury, who has been sidelined for the past eight months because of knee surgery, returned to the ring. Mercury looked emotional as she stepped into the ring and took in the atmosphere. Morgan, meanwhile, looked ice cold and focused, ready for action.
Alexandra Morgan vs. Mia Mercury
This one started out with both women testing each other but Alexandra Morgan’s strength beat out Mia Mercury’s speed at this match began to escalate. Mercury was roughed up and Morgan had no problem working on that surgically repaired knee but Mercury continued to try and turn this match around. Her persistence came through and Mercury hit Morgan with a barrage of high speed, high flying attacks from the ropes.
Morgan got a bit of a late match comeback but a missed body splash to the turnbuckle followed by a DDT put her in position for Mercury to take flight from the top turnbuckle and dive down with a flying elbow. Mercury hastily rolled up Morgan and got a three count, securing a big win for her big return!
Mia Mercury answered Alexandra Morgan’s challenge and secured a win that will surely have everyone talking. Alexandra Morgan looked shocked and frustrated as she sat on the sand and watched Mercury celebrate in the ring.
The Next Generation of the Wildheart
Phueng Ahunai captured the vacant RFW Wildheart Championship at Spring Shockwave and she came to the ring to meet me for an interview. I asked Ahunai how she felt to capture gold for the first time in RFW. And... that was it for me because Ahunai ripped the microphone from my hand and used her time to taunt the rest of the roster.
“I came here to RFW last year and told everybody that I am the Next Generation. Didn’t believe me? See me now. Maria Estrella, you don’t have what it takes anymore which is why I beat you for this. As for the rest of you in the back? You are background noise. This is my show! This is my title! This is my festival and this is my RFW!” -Phueng Ahunai
That certainly won’t win you any points with the other ladies in the back. One of them wasn’t hearing any more of this. Meghan DeWitt came to the ring to respond to the Wildheart champion telling her she is sick of hearing Ahunai’s mouth.
“Listening to you talk makes me want to vomit over this ring canvas. It’s been your thing since you got here. You earned that title. No doubt about that. But Maria Estrella is still one of the best in the world and backstage we’ve got a roster of stars to shape the next generation. It’s not a one person show. If you want to prove you deserve the Wildheart, try defending it against the person who held it the longest!” -Meghan DeWitt
This got tense but I wasn’t up close for a brawl. It ended without incident but Ahunai did not look amused as she left the ring. DeWitt looked ready to fight. I know this one is just beginning.
The Grand Champion
Spring Shockwave brought a big moment to RFW when Ruslan Panov finally completed his mission to become RFW Grand Champion! The new champion came to the ring with the title belt around his waist and stood proud and with gratitude as the beachside crowd gave him a hero’s welcome.
Panov spoke about his years of hard work and his journey to RFW.
“It’s been a winding road but I knew if I could get the opportunity, I could be your champion. The Iconoclast was a difficult challenge but I conquered him and I look toward the true beginning of my reign as Grand Champion. I don’t know who is first but know this, you’ll have the fight of your life because I am just getting started.” -Ruslan Panov
Panov did not need to wait for an opponent. Approaching from the aisle, alone I might add, was Killer Malone. Malone coolly stepped up to the champion and looked him up and down before bringing a simple message.
“I think it’s time I bring that Grand Championship into The Four Elements.” -Killer Malone
Panov’s only response was to smirk and nod at Malone’s challenge setting up our next big battle for the RFW Grand Championship!
Kami King vs. Paisley Alden w/Cool Spencer
Our main event featured Kami King looking to get a measure of revenge from Paisley Alden for her interference at Spring Shockwave. Alden was joined at ringside by who else but Cool Spencer.
King was aggressive from the start causing Alden to flee the ring into the comforting arms of Spencer. Spencer was no help, however, because King was quick to slide out of the ring and nail him with a super kick. Alden tried to run into the crowd but King caught up with her and tackled her on the sand. Surrounded by the crowd, King pummeled Alden before ripping off her t-shirt leaving her in a bikini top. King dumped a cooler of ice over Alden’s back and then smashed a beer can over her head.
Alden was dragged back to the ring by the hair and King went to finish her with the super kick. Spencer launched a beachball into the ring, bouncing between King and Alden and distracting King. Alden used the opportunity to drop her with a face buster and covered for a pin. Despite her dramatic screaming and headbanging while holding King down, Alden couldn’t get the three count.
King was able to make a comeback and hit Alden with a super kick before winning the match by pinfall.
Kami King was declared the winner but her celebration was short. Cool Spencer jumped into the ring and confronted her. This gave Paisley Alden a chance to hit her from behind and dropping her with another face buster. Alden and Spencer laughed their post-match attack to close out our first week here at the Rapid Fire Festival.
We’ll see you back here next week!
