RFW #113 Results
Date: 05/17/2025
Location: RFW Arena in Atlanta, GA
This is it, Rapid Fire Fanatics! The last week of action before our Spring Shockwave supershow! We’ll hear from champions, challengers, rivals, and find out what Spring Shockwave is going to look like. I’m Shawn Roberts, the voice of RFW, and it’s my pleasure to welcome you to Rapid Fire Wrestling!
Kenneth Cobb and Hector Diaz vs. Lords of Chaos
We kicked off the show with a grudge match between Lords of Chaos and the team of Kenneth Cobb and Hector Diaz. There’s no love lost between these teams and after these four brawled all over this arena last week our Commissioner wanted to try and contain their animosity within the ring ropes.
Didn’t happen. This match started off fine but quickly spilled to the outside. Rex Anarchy and Kenneth Cobb brawled until Diaz dove off the apron to tackle Anarchy. Ruslan Panov wasted no time going after Diaz. The referee continued to count but had to give up on that and disqualify both teams when the chairs, broomsticks, and utility buckets came out from under the ring. Both teams were relentless laying in shots with these ringside weapons until RFW officials split them up.
I got word from RFW Commissioner Aurora Starkey that these two teams will meet again next week at Spring Shockwave in a tornado tag team steel cage match! It had to come to this. Of course it did.
Annika
Our very own Kimberly Kennedy sat down with Annika earlier this week during her training at the RFW training center. Annika has the biggest match of her career next week when she challenges Kassidy Fortune for the RFW World Championship.
Annika was confident here in this intimate discussion. The challenger is ready and she touched on the accusation by Fortune that she was insecure.
“Kassidy thinks that, deep down, I’m insecure. Truthfully, I used to be. I was bullied growing up and I still am shy and I still am guarded. I began practicing Judo and it saved my life. It made me stronger. I know who I am now. Maybe I was the insecure little girl that Fortune described but I’m a confident woman now and I know I am ready for the biggest match of my career.” -Annika
Annika went back to sparring with one of our wrestling school students under the watchful eye of my teacher, the legendary Mike Blood.
Backstage Politicking
We got a look into RFW Commissioner Aurora Starkey’s office where our commish looked quite annoyed as she stood across from a smiling Lee Lee Hunt. If you recall last week, Hunt asked for Jessie Vega to receive a title shot at the upcoming Rapid Fire Festival this summer, a request that Starkey denied. It seems things have changed. Starkey revealed that Vega’s record label is paying for significant marketing at the Rapid Fire Festival and part of the agreement is that Vega receive a prominent position on the shows.
Hunt asked Starkey if that meant her request to give Vega an RFW World Championship title match and Starkey, well, she compromised.
“Your record company said a prominent position. They didn’t say title match, though. So here’s what I got. Jessie will compete in the main event match at night one of the Rapid Fire Festival in a number one contender’s match for the RFW World Championship. If she wins, she’ll that that title match you asked for. She will have earned it. You get what you want. I get what I want.” -Aurora Starkey
Hunt apprehensively asked who Vega’s opponent would be but Starkey said that would be a surprise. Hunt didn’t like this idea but Starkey said it was the best she was going to get.
Mikey Armstrong and Preston Montgomery vs. The Elements
Once upon a time in NRWL, Mikey Armstrong was part of The Four Elements with Marcus and Tommy V. Relations between Armstrong and his former stablemates aren’t so rosy these days, which is sad, but great for us as fans because we got a tag team match out of it.
This match was was a fun, competitive tag team match at the outset but then someone showed up who added confusion to this whole thing. Shannon Worth walked down to ringside and silently stood by watching the action. Both teams looked confused by her presence but when Preston Montgomery needed a tag to his partner and the referee was distracted by Tommy V. Worth made her intentions known by pulling Armstrong off the apron and blasting him with a spinning elbow. Marcus finished off Montgomery giving The Elements the win here.
The Elements and Shannon Worth further assaulted Preston Montgomery until Mikey Armstrong crawled into the ring and covered his partner, absorbing the rest of The Elements attack.
The Elements and Worth stood united here suggesting they’ve begun some kind of alliance and honestly, that scares me.
Lucia Mendez Searches for Yurei
When Lucia Mendez said last week that she was looking for a new challenge I don’t think she expected an immediate response. Yurei appeared and choked out Mendez. This week, Mendez was backstage on the hunt for Yurei and found her sitting cross legged on some equipment backstage. Mendez showed no fear confronting Yurei to demand a reason for the attack. Yurei was forthcoming.
“We help each other. You want a new challenge. I use you to send a message to RFW that I am back. And far more dangerous.” -Yurei
Mendez wanted to fight immediately but Yurei refused, wanting their contact to happen at Spring Shockwave “in front of the biggest audience possible.” With that, Yurei rolled backward off the stack of equipment she was sitting on and disappeared into the depths of the backstage area.
Lost Cause vs. The Navigators and Phueng Ahunai
A busy main event at last week’s show brought Phueng Ahunai together with The Navigators as they faced Lost Cause in this mix tag team affair!
This one was wild with a lot of tags, double teams, and antics outside of the ring. The Navigators looked great here as you’d expect the tag champs to be but Lost Cause were quick to show them why they are challenging for those titles next week. Ahunai taunted all of Lost Cause until Paisley Alden belted her in the mouth. The women brawled from here outside the ring as the tag teams escalated their efforts in it.
Everybody piled into the ring near the conclusion of this match until Alden turned the tide doing something not in her usual playbook by leaping off the top turnbuckle and using a hurricanrana on Ahunai sending the Thai superstar into Aidan North. North tumbled out of the ring, Pete Arrow turned his attention to his partner, allowing Cool Spencer to roll him up for a pin!
It wasn’t poetry but Lost Cause claimed a key victory here against The Navigators. That’s good momentum going into their big match next week. The Navigators looked frustrated but took this loss in stride. As for Phueng Ahunai, she was furious as she watched Paisley Alden celebrate with her friends.
Built Different
Alexandra Morgan has undergone a transformation in more ways than one. Just one year ago, she was a member of Lost Cause. Now she’s aligned with Claudia Winter and laser-focused on being a champion. She was always in great shape but is now in the best shape of her life. And she wanted us to know that.
Winter came to the ring and introduced Morgan who walked into the arena wearing nothing more than a two-piece swimsuit and covered head-to-toe in oil as she stood in between spotlights and posed to show off her phenomenal body.
“I present to you the woman who will defeat Meghan DeWitt and capture the RFW Wildheart Championship next week at Spring Shockwave. Chiseled out of stone! A living, breathing goddess! I give you, Alexandra Morgan!” -Claudia Winter
Will Morgan be the next one to hold the Wildheart? Not if Meghan DeWitt has anything to say about it. DeWitt ran from behind and nailed Morgan with a flying knee. Morgan dropped to the stage, out cold. Winter looked on from the ring in horror. And DeWitt? Well, she pulled a microphone from her pocket and let everyone know what she thought of her challenger.
“You look real impressive, Alexandra. You could be on the cover of a fitness magazine. But that doesn’t win you championships. Hey, Claudia. You think I’m not ready for your ‘goddess?’ Well, I can assure you I am ready. It’s the two of you who took your eye off the ball.” -Meghan DeWitt
DeWitt tossed the microphone and walked away as Morgan began to stir. What a statement from the champion!
Kassidy Fortune
We were treated to another previously recorded Kimberly Kennedy interview, this time with our RFW World Champion, Kassidy Fortune. Fortune was shown training with the guidance of Rand Wolfe before sitting down with Kennedy. The two discussed Fortune’s career trajectory.
“I was the must-see star of Wildheart Wrestling Club. I won their championship three times. RFW Wildheart Championship? I legitimized that one. I defeated the great Cate Stiles to become World Champion. I’ve done all of this by working harder than everyone else and I am still climbing. Annika is an amazing fighter. We are going to have a great match. But, really, when the bell rings Annika is going to find that she came up just a bit short against me.” -Kassidy Fortune
And with that, Fortune continued her training. We’ve got two confident women stepping into the ring next week. Only one can walk out champion and to be honest I couldn’t predict who that will be.
Ridge vs. Andre Jordan
One week away from defending the RFW Grand Championship against The Iconoclast and Andre Jordan stepped into the ring against veteran high flyer Ridge in this main event match. I was surprised to see this one billed. Jordan has been through a lot this season. Nobody would have blamed him for resting up before Spring Shockwave but I hear that Jordan is the one who asked for a match this week.
Jordan and Ridge shook hands and then tested each other out before the champion took controlled with a surprisingly aggressive offense. Jordan was laying those slams harder than usual and his submissions had a little extra torque. Ridge made a strong comeback midway through the match but it was Jordan who used a triangle hold on Ridge to force a submission victory.
Andre Jordan stood tall as the winner but did not waste time celebrating. The RFW Grand Champion grabbed a microphone and called out The Iconoclast.
“You think I’m too distracted? You think because my personal life went to hell that you are going to walk al over me next week? That’s not the way it works! I just proved I’m still focused and I’m ready for you. For anyone! Get your ass out here and I’ll make sure you know that first hand!” -Andre Jordan
The Iconoclast did come to ringside at Jordan’s beckoning but did not get the ring. Dezzy Nightshade slipped into the ring from behind, spun the champion around, and spit purple mist in his face. Nightshade laughed as The Iconoclast absolutely destroyed Jordan in the ring. Nightshade handed The Iconoclast the RFW Grand Championship and the challenger held the belt over his head to end the show.
