The last stop before Final Round 2023 is jam packed with a big main event and numerous encounters.
“Badlands” Bill Stanton vs. The Iconoclast w/Dezzy Nightshade
The show started with a hot opening match between “Badlands” Bill Stanton and MoW’s newest addition, The Iconoclast.
Both brawlers worked hard to best one another but Dezzy Nightshade watched from ringside as The Iconoclast overcame Stanton to win the match. The Iconoclast and Nightshade were not finished with Stanton and continued to assault him after the match.
The post-match attack brought out Snarl and he began to brawl with The Iconoclast until Nightshade spit purple mist into Snarl’s face. Snarl stood confused before falling to his knees in a stupor. MoW Champion Dr. Insidious came to the ring, circled his Final Round opponent, and then used a sleeper hold until Snarl passed out. Dr. Insidious and his crew left Snarl in the ring and showed everyone how dangerous the trio was.
Uneasy Alliance
The Diamond Peak came to the ring to talk about their matches at Final Round. Claudia Winter hyped up Pierre Laurent being ready for Preston Montgomery and MoW Champion Shannon Worth putting Cate Stiles in her place and reaching a two year long run with the MoW Championship.
Stiles interrupted The Diamond Peak but quickly found herself surrounded by the trio. Montgomery came to the ring to backup Stiles, though Stiles did not trust Montgomery.
“I don’t need you here. When these people put me on the shelf for a year, you were a part of that. Stay away from me.” -Cate Stiles
MoW Commissioner Tiger Johnson came down to the ring and disagreed with Stiles. Johnson saw an opportunity for a big main event and put Stiles and Montgomery against Worth and Laurent later in the show.
A Misunderstanding of the Rules
Mikey Armstrong was shown backstage approaching Killer Malone. Armstrong wanted to talk to Malone about getting knocked out after their match last week.
“I think you might have misunderstood what was happening. You see, I pinned you and the referee called for the bell. When the bell rings, the match is over. That is how it works. I think you were confused because you hit me with your knockout punch after the bell. Anyway, no hard feelings! You made a mistake is all.” -Mikey Armstrong
Malone coolly said that he was not confused, made no mistake, and won’t be confused when they meet in the ring next week at Final Round. Armstrong was at a loss for words as Malone walked away.
Cole Arcane
Cole Arcane was seen sitting outside of the arena under a street light. Arcane spoke to the camera about how he and Rex Anarchy have been fighting for a year straight, though they have been at odds for years prior.
“Everybody wanted Rex to get what was coming to him for years. I finally did it and everybody turned on me. How does that make sense? It doesn’t matter now. Next week. Final Round? It will be Rex Anarchy’s final round in MoW. I’m finishing what I started, whether anyone likes it or not.” -Cole Arcane
Arcane walked away, prepared for his final encounter with Anarchy.
The Agreement is Over
Paul Priest barged into MoW Commission Tiger Johnson’s office, furious that Lucia Mendez broke the agreement and stopped working at his strip club. Johnson demands that Mendez return to work. Delilah pleaded with Priest to let it go and move on.
Mendez and Andre Jordan arrive and stand across from Priest and Delilah while Johnson said that he prefers to use the ring to solve problems and makes a mixed tag match with Priest and Delilah against Mendez and Jordan. Priest was not happy but Mendez cut him off and added another layer to the match.
“This, this pig of a man made my life hell and this match is not good enough! Paul once made me dance in a cage for his disgusting clientele. I want to make him dance in a cage. I want this to be a steel cage match! Sin restricciones!” -Lucia Mendez
Johnson liked the idea and granted Mendez’s request which further infuriated Priest.
Roasted
MoW Correspondent Kimberly Kennedy welcomed Jessie Vega and Maria Estrella to the ring. Kennedy questioned the couple on why they have returned to MoW with an attitude.
Vega and Estrella both deny having any bad attitude and were thrilled to be back. Kennedy asked about their treatment of Mary Jane Elder, who Vega called a star struck girl who overstepped her bounds.
Elder came down to the ring to respond and surprised everyone by absolutely skewering both women with a comedic roasting that the fans loved.
“Jessie loves wrestling. She couldn’t tell you who is on the roster, but, she loves it. Not as much as Maria loves Jessie but puppies do love their owners.” -Mary Jane Elder
Vega and Estrella were enraged for being made fun of and Vega challenges Elder to a match at Final Round to embarrass her in return on the biggest stage possible.
Meghan DeWitt vs. Kami King
Meghan DeWitt may have Annika to deal with at Final Round but she had to focus on a match against Kami King first. King got the best of DeWitt early on but DeWitt came on the offensive as the match continued.
DeWitt became distracted when Annika came down to ringside to watch the match close up. DeWitt demanded Annika leave but Annika held up her hands denying she would get involved. DeWitt’s lost focus caused King to get back on offense. King won by pinfall after a super kick.
DeWitt was upset and confronted Annika after the match. DeWitt tried to strike but Annika blocked and applied an armbreaker submission. Annika sent a message to DeWitt ahead of their clash at Final Round.
First Timers’ Luck
Kimberly Kennedy was backstage with both MoW Team Champions The Door and their challengers Lost Cause. Kennedy asked Lost Cause about their confidence despite having never teamed together before. Cool Spencer explained the mindset he and Rus Samson had.
“Rus and I are tight. We team up all the time on other stuff and that will translate well in the ring. Besides, guys like The Door are too stiff. We are relaxed. We aren’t going to get stressed out over this. Cool. Calm. Championship bound.” -Cool Spencer
Malcom was stunned by Spencer’s comments.
“What? You are standing across from the champions, the toughest guys around, and you think you are just going to roll into Final Round and ‘relax’ your way through us? What planet are you on that—” -Malcom
Malcom trailed off as his eye caught Alexandra Morgan pulling her skirt all the way up to adjust her fishnet stockings. Morgan noticed Malcom checking her out and smiled. Richter took over for his partner and said they would stamp out Lost Cause and put an end to this pathetic joke.
Rex Anarchy
Rex Anarchy looked relaxed backstage as he sipped on a bottle of beer. Anarchy threw the bottle behind him where it shattered on the floor. Anarchy’s words were short, but to the point.
“Cole Arcane and I go back to the very first Rapid Fire Wrestling show in 2015. That’s a long time for a rivalry. We’ve been through a lot. Truth is, I never wanted to run him out of RFW or MoW. I always wanted to work with him. But Tiger Johnson is right. This won’t end as long as both of us are here. I don’t want to leave but it has come down to him and me. Next week, I send Cole Arcane out of MoW. That much is a promise.” -Rex Anarchy
Anarchy adjusted his denim jacket over his shoulders and walked off.
Mistakes Were Made
Kimberly Kennedy invited MoW Wildheart Champion Kassidy Fortune to the ring to talk about her Final Round opponent, Tracy Blood. Fortune hit Blood with the title belt at last week’s show and shared her thoughts on the altercation.
“Tracy Blood got what she deserved because she’s hot headed. She couldn’t take a little criticism and thought she could attack me in retaliation. She made a mistake and learned the hard way that I know all about her.” -Kassidy Fortune
Blood came to the ring to respond to the Wildheart Champion. Blood was amused by Fortune calling out her mistake.
“I noticed you became quite full of yourself this year. You call me out for making a mistake but I think it is you who is making a mistake being overconfident. You think you know me but you won’t truly know who you are dealing with until you feel me kicking your head in.” -Tracy Blood
The proud fighters stood nose-to-nose in a tense moment before Fortune backed away and held up the MoW Wildheart Championship belt over her head, waving goodbye to Blood before leaving.
The Diamond Peak (Shannon Worth and Pierre Laurent w/Claudia Winter) vs. Cate Stiles and Preston Montgomery
The main event was a showdown between The Diamond Peak and the forced alliance of Cate Stiles and Preston Montgomery. Stiles and Montgomery worked together, barely, but The Diamond Peak maintained offense throughout the early minutes of the match.
Pierre Laurent put his feet on the ropes while trying to pin Montgomery but Stiles stormed the ring and put him in an ankle lock. Montgomery recovered enough to stand in Shannon Worth’s way while Claudia Winter was livid on the outside.
Laurent hobbled on his leg but managed to make a tag to Worth. Stiles entered the ring and collided with Worth giving fans a taste of what will come in their Final Round match next week. Worth went for a spinning elbow but Stiles dodged, responded with a flapjack, and pinned the MoW Champion to win the match.
The Diamond Peak regrouped on the outside while Stiles and Montgomery watched them closely from the ring. Montgomery attempted to celebrate the win with Stiles but she dropped him with a flapjack instead. Stiles stood tall in the ring to close the show.
