Carolina Deene vs. Mary Jane Elder
The show opened with a singles match between two women who have become very familiar with each other. Carolina Deene’s refusal to accept Mary Jane Elder, even despite losing to her twice, brought the two together for one more battle in the ring.
Deene found her early offense blocked by Elder. Elder delivered a strong offensive rally of her own that had Deene retreating. Deene clutched at her wrist following an awkward landing from an arm drag. Elder looked at Deene with concern but it was all a ruse. Deene rolled up Elder with a pin and pulled her tights for leverage to win the match.
Deene rolled out of the ring where the referee raised her hand while Elder sat in the ring, unamused.
Cate Stiles Medical Exam
Cate Stiles was subjected to a series of rigorous medical exams to determine if she would be cleared to compete at Mad Season against MoW Champion Shannon Worth. Stiles performed the necessary exams backstage throughout the show while Worth and her manager, Claudia Winter, watched closely in person.
Stiles ran on a treadmill to test her cardio conditioning and passed without issue. Stiles told Worth that she could run all day but Worth was not amused.
Stiles was later examined by a doctor for range of motion in her leg. The doctor determined Stiles to have normal range of motion, prompting Stiles to do a small dance in front of Worth to taunt her.
Finally, Stiles had to perform strength tests on her legs with a series of weight training exercises. Stiles passed the test and then invited Worth to match her in weight lifting reps but Worth and Winter stormed out of the training room in anger.
Stiles, Worth, and Winter later gathered in the ring with MoW Commissioner Tiger Johnson who made the announcement that Stiles was cleared to compete.
“I have read the medical exam results. I have spoken with the doctors and trainers. Cate Stiles, I am pleased to inform you that you are cleared to compete in the MoW ring, effective immediately. Welcome back. This means that you will meet Shannon Worth, one-on-one, for the MoW Championship next week at Mad Season!” -Tiger Johnson
Worth wasted no time trying to attack Stiles but found herself being tossed from the ring. Stiles stood in the ring and held up the MoW Championship belt while Winter helped Worth to her feet. The two looked up at Stiles with rage.
Admiration and Suspicious Treats
Rus Samson approached Alexandra Morgan backstage and complimented her dominant performance last week over Chez Everett. Samson was curious about Morgan’s workout routine. Morgan was glad to talk and invited Samson into her dressing room, where Cool Spencer and Paisley Alden were chilling on a couch eating cookies. Morgan asked Samson if he wanted one.
“Sure. I enjoy a cookie on cheat days. What kind is that? Chocolate chip?” -Rus Samson
“Uh, sure. We’ll go with that. Help yourself.” -Alexandra Morgan
Samson made himself comfortable with Morgan on the couch and grabbed a cookie.
Wildhearts
Kimberly Kennedy invited Kassidy Fortune and Mia Mercury to the ring to give the women a chance to address their match next week at Mad Season. The stakes are high as one woman will leave the show as the inaugural MoW Wildheart Champion.
Fortune spoke of her place as the leader of the Wildheart Wrestling Club promotion where the title’s name was inspired.
“Standing out in MoW is tremendously difficult but I have pushed myself harder than I have in my entire career to make it to the top. It would be an honor, and a privilege, to be the first person to hold this title. And I couldn’t be happier to compete for it against a fellow WWC original. Mia Mercury, let’s make history.” -Kassidy Fortune
Mercury spoke of her own quest to reach new heights and addressed her struggles.
“You and I are both looking for the chance to break out and get ahead of the pack. But you’ve been there in WWC. I wanted to do that here but when the WWC roster popped up in MoW, you did break out. Me? I had to sit at home because of a busted knee. Both of us deserve this chance, but only of us can be Wildheart Champion. I need this opportunity so you will get me at my very best. May the best woman win.” -Mia Mercury
Fortune and Mercury shook hands but the tension could be felt as both women knew they had a difficult challenge at Mad Season.
She Said No
Paul Priest lurked backstage and once again attempted to recruit Lucia Mendez to come work at his strip club. Mendez refused him again but Priest persisted. Andre Jordan showed up and shoved Priest away.
“Lucia said no. She doesn’t want anything to do with you, you creep! Get moving and go back to your filthy hole in the wall club.” -Andre Jordan
Priest tried to ease the situation with Jordan before taking a cheap shot at him. Jordan brawled with Priest in the hallway until Priest ran off. Jordan yelled to him they weren’t finished.
Paul Priest vs. Andre Jordan at Mad Season was announced later in the show.
Get Real
Kimberly Kennedy was backstage with Mikey Armstrong to talk about Armstrong’s victory over Jax Rivers last week. Armstrong touted his ring instincts.
“Jax Rivers is one of the best wrestlers in MoW. The deck was stacked against me. Nobody thought I had a chance. But I saw a hole in Rivers’ incredible offensive arsenal and took advantage. Somehow, I pulled off the win. I may have a chance here!” -Mikey Armstrong
Jax Rivers approached Armstrong with a simple challenge.
“Can we cut this nonsense? Mikey, you’ve been wrestling about as long as I have. Week after week you proclaim yourself to be some underdog facing insurmountable odds. It’s cute, but I’m tired of it. You stole a win from me last week. Next week is Mad Season. I want a rematch so I can knock that goofy smile off your face.” -Jax Rivers
Rivers walked off, leaving Armstrong looking unsure of how to respond other than mumbling about being at Mad Season for the match.
The Threat
Tracy Blood came to the ring to address tensions with Annika since her arrival in MoW. Blood said she respected Annika as a fighter but has been a thorn in her side since she returned to wrestling.
“You were making a little career for yourself in MMA but then you got in my business last year at Final Round. And now you had to come here to make your return to the wrestling ring. My wrestling ring?” -Tracy Blood
Annika came out to interrupt Blood to understand why the hostility toward her.
“I couldn’t figure it out. Why have you been targeting me? Tonight, listening to you talk, I understand. You are threatened. You left MMA to become a wrestler like your dad and your brother. I left MMA to come back to wrestling and you think I’m going to be another you and you can’t live with that. I just want to wrestle. We may have had similar paths, but I am not you.” -Annika
Blood was offended by the suggestion that she was threatened by Annika and challenged her to a match at Mad Season to show Annika who the superior fighter is, which Annika accepted.
Running Scared
Kimberly Kennedy met backstage with Rex Anarchy. Anarchy was disappointed in Cole Arcane continuing to run from him.
“I thought better of him. At least have the guts to stand up to me. I’m done playing games. Cole Arcane, you can run from me now, but at Mad Season, I’ve got a bit of news for you. We’ve got a match. You and me. Both of us walk in, and after the match, you don’t walk again. I’m going to—” -Rex Anarchy
Cole Arcane rushed from behind and blasted Anarchy with a metal baseball bat. Arcane struck with a series of swings before fleeing the scene. Anarchy clutched his ribs tight as Kimberly Kennedy yelled for medical assistance.
MoW released a statement following the show that Rex Anarchy suffered bruised ribs but will be able to compete at Mad Season.
A Battle of Respect
Ridge, the number one contender for the MoW Championship, stood alone in a quiet corner in the backstage of the arena. Ridge spoke to the camera about waiting over twenty years for the opportunity to reach wrestling’s highest peak.
“I’m not going to lie to you, the fans. There have been times I didn’t think I’d ever get this chance. In WFW, I was the little cruiserweight. In NRWL, I was overshadowed by the ones who knew how to work the crowds and get the camera to focus on them. But I’m here now. I’m going to do this. Not just for me but for everybody out there who ever paid to see me fight. For everyone who ever bought the t-shirts I sold at the indie shows. Killer Malone is a great wrestler and a great champion, but it’s my moment and I’m not losing it.” -Ridge
Ridge was interrupted by Claudia Winter and Killer Malone. Winter dismissed Ridge’s passionate speech as false hope and said that Ridge never was champion material, questioning why he thinks he is now. Killer Malone stopped Winter.
“No. I disagree. Ridge, like me, has been great, consistently, throughout his career. He got overlooked. Like me. Ridge, I don’t underestimate you. Against anybody else, I think you’d have a chance. You could be the champion here. But at Mad Season, you have to step into the ring with me and I’m not losing this championship.” -Killer Malone
Ridge gave Winter a dirty look, got in Malone’s face, and told him he’ll look like a fool when Mad Season is over before walking off.
NCSF (Hardcore Adam and Tornado), Oleg Azarov, and Ruslan Panov vs. MoW Team Champions The Diamond Peak (Preston Montgomery and Pierre Laurent)/w Claudia Winter and The Door (Malcom and Richter)
The main event featured a huge eight-man tag match. NCSF worked well with Oleg Azarov and Ruslan Panov. All four men made frequent tags and cheered each other on as they battled their rivals.
Malcom blasted Tornado with a clothesline that send him head over heels and gave his team an opening for an offense. The Diamond Peak took advantage of Malcom’s work and gloated as they dominated the offense while The Door was kept out of the mix. Tensions rose between the two teams which led to NCSF, Panov, and Azarov to make a big comeback.
The match turned into a brawl both in and out of the ring. Richter used a DDT on Adam and was pushed out of the way by Laurent who covered Adam for the pin to win the match.
The Diamond Peak celebrated the win but The Door confronted them. Claudia Winter calmed the situation and continued the tense celebration with both teams to end the show.
