MoW Wildheart Championship Tournament Semifinals
The semifinals of the MoW Wildheart Championship tournament took place and set two women into the finals at the upcoming Mad Season supershow.
Kassidy Fortune and Annika competed in a seesaw match with many counters, near falls, and submissions. Annika struck Fortune in the side with a kick causing Fortune to favor her ribs as the match continued on. Annika tried to use an arm breaker but Fortune prevented it from being fully locked in. Fortune made a late match comeback and pinned Annika following a cutter.
Kassidy Fortune secured her trip to Mad Season and celebrated in the ring. Moments later, Annika was walking backstage and was approached by Tracy Blood. Blood was unimpressed with Annika.
“Kassidy was struggling to catch her breath and you couldn’t put her away? Come on, Annika. And here I thought we’d face each other at Mad Season. Maybe I was wrong about you. You aren’t in my league.” -Tracy Blood
Annika said nothing and instead watched Blood walk away.
Tracy Blood had her own semifinal match later in the show against Mia Mercury. Blood tried to slow down Mercury, using leg locks and strikes on Mercury’s well-documented bad knee. Mercury was less reliant on high flying attacks and tried to hold her own against the former MoW Champion.
Blood closed in on victory but Mercury dodged a head kick and came back with barrage of attacks. Mercury relied on a more grounded offense than she is known for but managed to climb the turnbuckle and land a flying elbow drop on Blood. Mercury pinned Blood to pin the match and lock in a match for the MoW Wildheart Championship against Kassidy Fortune.
Mia Mercury stood triumphant in the ring. Backstage, a dejected Tracy Blood ran into Annika, who had a retort for Blood’s earlier comments.
“It looks to me like your schedule is freed up for Mad Season. Maybe we can have that match you wanted after all. Yeah?” -Annika
Blood was furious and stormed off while a smile crept over Annika’s face.
Recruitment
Paul Priest and Delilah approached Lucia Mendez backstage about coming to work for Priest. Priest described his nightclub as a hot spot for late night entertainment. Delilah said she loves working there and makes a lot of money.
“I think you could be one of the most popular ladies on my staff. Heh. You’re hot, in shape, and oh so irresistible. I simply must have you.” -Paul Priest
Mendez quickly realized Priest runs a strip club and wanted nothing to do with his offer. Priest persisted until Andre Jordan showed up. Priest backed away and left.
Alexandra Morgan w/Paisley Alden and Cool Spencer vs. Chez Everett
Paisley Alden and Cool Spencer accompanied Alexandra Morgan at ringside for her match against Chez Everett. Morgan and her crew were joking around before the bell rang as a focused Everett watched them with some irritation.
Morgan bowled over the former WWC Champion with an onslaught of powerful clotheslines and slams. Morgan appeared to play with Everett as she displayed a clear strength advantage. Everett was defeated by pinfall following a spinning side slam in this quick match.
Morgan laughed and hugged Alden and Spencer after the match. Alden jumped excitedly for Morgan and Spencer had a faraway smile on his face while he leaned against the ropes and nodded in approval.
Overcoming the Challenge
Kimberly Kennedy interviewed Mikey Armstrong backstage in a segment where Armstrong touted his victory over Andre Jordan last week.
“Last week, I defeated a former challenger for the MoW Championship in a victory that will be talked about for generations.” -Mikey Armstrong
Jax Rivers took exception to Armstrong’s comments, cutting into the interview and criticizing Armstrong for making a big deal of small moments and fluke victories. Rivers challenged Armstrong in a match to give him a reality check.
The two met in the ring in a competitive match, though it was Rivers who rallied a strong offense late in the match. Armstrong did manage to escape a flapjack and rolled up Rivers for a pin. Armstrong put his feet on the ropes for leverage which went unnoticed by the referee giving Armstrong a big win over Rivers.
Mikey Armstrong jumped for joy outside the ring as he enthusiastically celebrated his win. Jax Rivers sat in the ring and watched Armstrong in both frustration and amusement.
Ridge vs. “Badlands” Bill Stanton
Ridge, the number one contender for the MoW Championship, had a tough fight against the grizzled brawler “Badlands” Bill Stanton. Stanton slowed down Ridge throughout the match but Ridge made a strong comeback and defeated Stanton by pinfall with a shooting star press.
Ridge was celebrating his win when MoW Champion Killer Malone with Claudia Winter came down to ringside to meet with his challenger. Winter called Ridge a great wrestler but after over twenty years he never won a big title. She wondered why Ridge thought he could become champion now when the man to dethrone is Killer Malone. Ridge was confident in his abilities.
“I’ve been doing this as long as some on this roster have been alive. You don’t last that long without learning a few things. I’m not intimidated by Killer Malone or the threat of your other Diamond Peak goons lurking nearby. Malone, you are a great champion, but experience has me prepared for you. I hope you are prepared for me.” -Ridge
Malone was angry at the suggestion of The Diamond Peak helping him but Winter assured Ridge that Malone would not need help.
Again?
Mary Jane Elder was interviewed by Kimberly Kennedy and responding to a question about her next move after defeating Carolina Deene last week. Before Elder could respond, Deene stepped in and refused to accept the defeat, suggesting she was in control of the match until the very end. Elder cut off Deene and stood up for herself.
“I beat you. Twice! Why won’t you accept that? I just wanted to come here to MoW and compete. I don’t need someone like you giving me a hard time about everything I do. Is it another match you want? I will face you one more time, but that’s it. I want to move forward.” -Mary Jane Elder
MoW Commissioner Tiger Johnson confirmed that Elder and Deene will meet one more time on next week’s Rapid Fire Wrestling.
Not Fit for Competition
Kimberly Kennedy met with Claudia Winter and MoW Champion Shannon Worth in the ring. Kennedy announced to the crowd that Winter had a case to present against Cate Stiles competing for the MoW Championship at Mad Season.
Winter presented a series of photos and news articles showing Stiles’s recovery from the broken leg caused by Worth last year. Stiles recovery was difficult and Winter’s photos showed Stiles on crutches months after the injury, a news headline describing a major setback in her recovery in the fall, and Stiles at a fan signing at late as February of this year wearing a medical boot.
“Cate Stiles made a grand return at Final Round but it was all a lie. She is notready. She is unfit to wrestle at the highest levels required to compete against MoW’s longest reigning champion. Let’s stop wasting everybody’s time and giving these fans false hope. Cate Stiles is not the right opponent for Shannon Worth. Not now. Maybe not ever.” -Claudia Winter
Worth demanded MoW give her a challenger that isn’t held together by tape and glue.
Cate Stiles emerged from backstage to confront Worth and Winter. Stiles admitted that all Winter presented was true and she had suffered major setbacks in her recovery. Stiles assured them that she is the right challenger for Worth’s title.
“MoW doesn’t want me to compete if I am not ready, either. But they aren’t interested in the condition of my leg a few months ago. They only care about how I am now. Next week, here on Rapid Fire Wrestling, I will be subject to a rigorous medical exam, an exam that I will pass, and will show up at Mad Season to beat your ass and reclaim the MoW Championship.” -Cate Stiles
Winter was angered by this news while Worth and Stiles traded inaudible taunts to each other before Stiles left the ring.
NCSF (Tornado and Hardcore Adam) vs. Ruslan Panov and Oleg Azarov
The number one contender team NCSF had a hard-hitting main event match against the new team of Ruslan Panov and Oleg Azarov.
The main event collision was full of hard hits, near falls, and smart teamwork by both teams. Despite the late match momentum from Azarov and Panov, it was NCSF who picked up the win when Tornado landed a corkscrew splash on Panov after a cutter by Adam.
NCSF stood victorious in the ring but their celebration was short-lived due to a sneak attack by MoW Team Champions, Preston Montgomery and Pierre Laurent of The Diamond Peak.
Panov and Azarov dove back into the ring to fend off The Diamond Peak before The Door rushed down to the ring to attack them. The show ended with NCSF, Panov and Azarov brawling in and out of the ring with The Diamond Peak and The Door.
