Rapid Fire Wrestling #079 Results

MoW began its spring season with a new episode of Rapid Fire Wrestling in Madison, WI.

Cracked Diamond

The show kicked off with Claudia Winter leading The Diamond Peak faction to the ring to celebrate their dominant hold over the MoW title scene.

Winter touted the group’s victories at November’s Final Round 2022 event, praising Preston Montgomery and Pierre Laurent as the future of MoW, Killer Malone as champion she always saw that nobody else could, and Shannon Worth as the longest reigning titleholder that MoW has ever seen.

Worth began to praise Winter in return for all she does for The Diamond Peak but was cut off by a tense Killer Malone. Malone said he appreciated all Winter did to get him opportunities but did not appreciate her getting involved in his match at Final Round. Winter appeared embarrassed and said she was only looking out for him. Malone made it clear that he did not need her help once the bell rings and warned her not to interfere again.

“You will always have my appreciation for clearing the way to get me a title shot I so desperately deserved. But once that bell rings, you can cheer me on from ringside, or you can wait in the back, it makes no difference to me. But do not, ever, get involved in my matches. That’s my business.” -Killer Malone

Worth came to Winter’s defense while Montgomery and Laurent looked on with concern. Winter calmed the situation, though following the uneasy celebration in the ring it was Malone that exited the ring first and did not allow his stable mates to catch up to him.

New Faces

This week’s Rapid Fire Wrestling featured the debuts of several new stars to MoW.

Annika made her return to wrestling following a stint in MMA in a match against Mysterie. Mysterie was a tough opponent but Annika rolled away from Mysterie’s corkscrew splash and locked in an armbreaker submission for the victory. Tracy Blood was seen backstage watching Annika’s win on a television monitor. Blood appeared frustrated by Annika’s success.

Caroline Deene stepped into the ring with newcomer Mary Jane Elder. Elder made a strong impression early in the match but Deene turned the match in her favor. Deene was cocky in her offense and proved to be her downfall, allowing Elder to make a comeback and pin Deene, winning the match.

Paul Priest, Delilah, and Cool Spencer each made their debut in MoW. Priest had Delilah in his corner as a valet in his match against Spencer. The match was evenly contested but it was Spencer who won the match by pinfall following a hanging brainbuster.

Mikey Armstrong made his MoW debut against Hector Diaz. Diaz got in some offense but Armstrong handily defeated the up-and-comer by pinfall. Armstrong spoke to Kimberly Kennedy in a post-match interview and declared himself the perennial underdog and had barely gotten by Diaz.

“Hoo. Gotta catch my breath. Everyone loves an underdog. And that’s me. That’s—That’s who I am. Hector Diaz, one of the greatest to ever do it. I just went toe-to-toe with Hector freakin’ Diaz and came out, somehow, with a win tonight. Mikey Armstrong is here to make a statement. Don’t know how you can make a bigger statement than that.” -Mikey Armstrong

MoW Wildheart Championship Tournament

As previously announced in the State of MoW letter released in January, MoW is introducing a new championship in 2023.

“Wildheart” Rand Wolfe, founder of Wildheart Wrestling Club, joined MoW ring correspondent Kimberly Kennedy to unveil the MoW Wildheart Championship belt and shared his excitement for WWC’s legacy to live on through this new championship. The MoW Wildheart Championship will be a singles title exclusive to the women’s division.

“The women who wrestled in WWC accomplished so much. Though WWC is no longer in operation, it gave many women the stage to be seen, known, and develop the skills to thrive on a bigger stage. MoW is that bigger stage and I am excited, and quite honestly, humbled, that the legacy we built with WWC will continue on in MoW thanks to the MoW Wildheart Championship.” -“Wildheart” Rand Wolfe

The inaugural MoW Wildheart Champion will be crowned May 27th at the Mad Season supershow following a tournament that begins next week on Rapid Fire Wrestling. Here are the first round matches.

Tracy Blood vs. Siobhan Wild
Mysterie vs. Kagero Sato
Chez Everett vs. Paisley Alden
Carolina Deene vs. Mia Mercury
Kassidy Fortune vs. Meghan DeWitt
Mary Jane Elder vs. Sheena
Kami King vs. Alexandra Morgan
Annika vs. Aurora Starkey

Anarchy Wants Answers

Rex Anarchy made an appearance in the ring and wasted no time getting down to business. Anarchy called out Cole Arcane. Anarchy admitted everyone knew their alliance would implode eventually but nobody expected Arcane to be the one to do it. Anarchy just wanted to know why.

“Look, I get it. Our partnership wasn’t built on a solid foundation. But you attacked me after we lost our match at Final Round and I never got an explanation. I’ve tried calling. I’ve tried texting. You’ve been silent for months! I’ll accept that you hate me. Probably always have. That’s fine. But tell me to my face why you attacked me when you did. I just want to know why. And I’m not leaving! I’m not leaving until you get your ass out here and give me an explanation!” -Rex Anarchy

Cole Arcane did come down to ringside but stopped short of stepping through the ropes to confront Anarchy. Arcane shook his head instead and walked away, leaving Anarchy without the explanation he demanded.

Damage Done

Rus Samson and Big Time Stratton formed an alliance during MoW’s Holiday Mayhem show in December. The duo made their Rapid Fire Wrestling debut against The Door in a tag team match.

Samson and Stratton looked impressive as a team but their debut ended badly when Malcom and Richter became more vicious during an offensive comeback. Stratton was battered by The Door before Malcom used a backstabber and pinned him for the victory. The Door walked off victorious, though things looked bad for Stratton in the ring. Stratton was helped backstage by Samson and medical staff.

MoW released a statement after the show that Stratton suffered a back injury and will be out of action for the foreseeable future.

Kami King vs. Kassidy Fortune

The main event featured two favorites to win the MoW Wildheart Championship tournament. Kami King and Kassidy Fortune had an intense match with many near falls and submissions. King hit Fortune with a super kick and covered for a pin but Fortune kicked out a split second before the three count that had fans on their feet in shock.

Both women fought hard for the victory but it was Fortune who secured the win by pinfall after using a cutter on King.

Kami King shook hands with Kassidy Fortune before leaving the ring to the victor, who celebrated to close out the show.

Cate Stiles Returns Next Week

Cate Stiles returned to MoW at Final Round 2022 to confront the person who put her out of action for almost a year, MoW Champion Shannon Worth. What will Stiles have to say when she makes her return on Rapid Fire Wrestling next week?
